Old Saint Mary's Convent is so good we keep returning every two years. It is a complete package - with private grounds, luxurious accommodation, delicious breakfasts, home grown apples & pears plus fantastic wine from their vineyard. An absolute must in your travel calendar. We prefer to keep going back to Old Saint Mary's Convent rather than explore other places...

15 years ago we stayed at Old Saint Mary's and loved it. We recently returned with our two children, and found it to be even more charming and romantic. The new owner and manager made us feel like family. The food was fabulous, the rooms terrific, and the property is even better now that a pool has been added. As...

Thank you for your lovely comments, and so nice to see return guests come back and see what changes have been made over the years, and to bring your children back as well. We hope that you return again in the future and still feel it is the highlight of your NZ trip!

Beautiful property and first class treatment. The owner and manager both made sure we had a great stay. The manager is also the cook and she makes a great breakfast. The location is near a lot of great wineries.

This lovely B and B sits amidst the vineyards of the Marlborough region. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and filled with lavender, white roses and pots of climbers. It has been carefully restored to a patina of old wood with careful attention to modern amenities. Rooms are spotless and charming with access to a stocked beverage refrigerator and fresh coffee....

A very special place with friendly hosts who expertly encourage a weekend house party atmosphere. The room was excellent and the wine made from grapes on the estate! The gardens are lovely. We borrowed bikes and cycled to the local wine and food festival.

Stayed here for 2 nights with a group of 4 friends after the Queen Charlotte Track walk. A wonderful experience - we all were so impressed by the beautiful old restored building, the location in the middle of the Marlborough vineyards, gorgeous rooms and lovely hosts. All the rooms were well appointed and spotless with fresh flowers from the garden....

Most beautiful, tasteful interiors, wonderful garden, homemade breakfast, pleasant staff. You felt like at home. Situated in the middle of Marlborough wine yards. It is a place where you want to return.

A very special place- provenance: a lovingly restored convent built in 1900; peaceful: extensive grounds with "secret gardens;" service: special insight on local activities; convenience: great location in the middle of vineyards (they make a great Malbec) and close to area wineries and restaurants.

Our second visit (first in 2002 on honeymoon) was fantastic and you can see the amazing improvements Den has made to the property and the gardens. This is a special place of tranquility and beauty in the heart of Marlborough wine region. The rooms are lovely, service very personal from Den's team, and the gardens are magnificent.

This was our second visit to Old St Mary's - it is a special place and one we hope to return to before too long. From the moment you enter the grounds of the old convent with its lavender filled landscaped gardens, to the time you reluctantly leave, everything is calm and luxurious. The rooms, overlooking the gardens and vineyard,...
