This is a nice place to stay for a short visit to Blenheim. It is generally quieter than the other backpackers in the town, as it is a little smaller and doesn't attract the same number of working backpackers or long termers. You can of course stay long term, and the hostel will provide you with numbers if you are...

We showed up without a booking and were really impressed! Our room was a triple above the garage and was spacious and clean. The kitchen was clean and sharp, and appeared to have been recently renovated. Beds were super comfy. The only gripe was that the wifi was not free. But there was a macdonalds down the road with free...

The kitchen was new and clean. In the backyard you have a lovely view on the river. Because the street isn't that interesting. It's nearby a supermarket and a good organic coffee place. 15 min walk from city center or i-site busstop. Lovely people. Big range of films you can hire. We turned the living room into a cinema. The...

There wasn't particularly anything terrible to grumble at but apart from the gorgeous river view at the back there is nothing to rave about either! Rooms are very basic and old school, had to wait a while for a shower and the kitchen is very small for a lot of people! All quite normal things for hostels and it is...

We booked a self contained unit above the garage at the Grapevine. We arrived very late due to a mechanical issue with the ferry but this was no problem. We called staff about this and they were very friendly and accomodating to us. The unit had large bedrooms and everything was nice and clean. I didn't use the shower but...

We originally booked into a dorm but many of the people there work in the area and it was absolutely filthy and a dump. I know it's difficult working and living in a hostel but you couldn't see the floor, it stank of sweat and stale food as well as people glaring at you and being unfriendly for taking the...

I stayed in a 5 bed dorm which was clean and comfortable. I had enough space for my backpack, although I'm not sure if a three level bunk bed is the best solution for making space. The street is not a main road so there's no traffic and it is quiet. It's a short walk to town and the grocery...

We stayed in a double room situated above the garage (outside the main building with kitchen, dorm rooms and communal area). Our room was clean and tidy, there was a shared bathroom with the room opposite and an oil radiation heater in the room (we needed it as it did get a little cold). We didn't stay in the dorm...

We visited with our 2 twin sons for 2 nights in the holidays, the room was clean and comfortable. One son was ill during the night and it was no effort the next day for staff to remake and clean up. Thank you. A reasonable price, very clean, lovely outside space and pretty. A nice walk into town, quite a...

A bit of a walk from the bus stop but without backpacks it feels more central! Short distance to town and the Marlborough wineries. It felt homely and relaxed with clean, spacious rooms and the opportunity to sleep on one of the triple bunk beds! The kitchen and lounge suited the small but loved old house and led to a...
