We arrived in Christchurch and spent our first night in New Zealand at this lovely place. The house is old and has a long history. The rooms are very comfortabel and arranged with love. We had a room with a shared balcony where you have an amazing view to the sea. There are also shared toilets and showers. If you...

Hubby and I took the Mother in law, mother, and my sister for a birthday tea at the Governors Bay Hotel. We'd been there before for coffee but not for a proper meal . The staff were very friendly, our waitress was very cheerful, but couldn't explain the menu very well. It was not what I'd describe as "Pub Food"....

We went for a relaxed family dinner and sat outside. What a gorgeous spot! All of our meals were lovely and the kids menu was good especially offering gluten free fish and chips gets a big thumbs up. Catering for our son who is gluten intolerant is always tricky. I had the eye fillet which was just delicious and my...

We had an evening meal at this pub. Despite our having previously enquired there were in fact very few gluten free main course options. I settled for pumpkin soup which I was unable to eat as it was both too sweet and too salty. The waitress promptly offered to take the soup off our bill. My husbands lamb rack was...

We bought a Grab One deal so we could enjoy a romantic night out and then catch up on sleep without the kids, as was suggested in the blurb on the deal. We were excited to see a board advertising OPEN FIRE outside he hotel. We were shown to our Queen room which has been refurbished, but is so small...

We had a lovely stay. The room had a lovely view and it was great to have a balcony - especially to have the complementary breakfast on. The room was quite small but comfortable and we slept well in the comfortable bed. It was good to have our own sink since the bathroom facilities were shared. Everything was clean and...

Room 1 !for sure) has a fire place, balcony access and view of the water, comfortable bed, continental breakfast! Wife was concerned about no ensuite facilities, but not a problem and clean with hot shower! Recommend highly if you want a place away from the bustle of Christchurch, but close and a grand drive.

Hi Matthew, Yes, we are historic (146 years and counting!) which is not something akin to Christchurch these days. Thank you so much for appreciating our pedigree and your night away. We do appreciate your feedback and would love to host you again. Kind regards, Jeremy Dyer
