I have a double room on the 3rd Floor, which is quiet and economical. best is that although I have a shared toilet in the lobby, there is so many of them that that's never a issue :).. There is paid WiFi $5 for 24 hours and $25 for a week, speed is great so worth it totally. I get... More

Good experience at YMCA. Friendly staff, good service. Excellent free parking facility - very large carpark outside the door which was a huge bonus considering the location. Walking distance to the city centre and opposite the beautiful botanical gardens. We had a large twin room which was warm and comfortable. On the downside it was quite noisy here and the... More

Stayed here to be near botanical gardens. Rather noisy but the en-suite room sufficed. Needs a refit. Location and the free parking were the pros. However best to pay an extra $20 elsewhere for better comfort and peace.

Rooms were available as share twin or share triple. beds were firm, single beds, electric blankets and a panel heater. one towel was prove per bed. shower and toilet were communal and provided liquid soap. The wifi cost $5.00 for 24 hours but i could not get it to... More

Stayed here for a few nights. This is a quiet and clean hostel. Location is pretty good. There's communal areas with a television on each floor which is good as the kitchens are quite small. Our dorm room was very spacious and clean. Would recommend.

Fantastic location, huge twin room with a balcony looking out over the botanic garden. Quickest check in we've ever had by staff who were real friendly. Happy to help us find our way to the nearest supermarkets. As I said it's in a great location only about 5 minutes walk from the city and 2 minutes away from the botanic... More

I had the pleasure of staying at this facility en route from Queensland to Wellington. I am an expat Kiwi, living in Australia, and wanted to support this beautiful city, so terribly traumatised by the 2011 earthquake, but recovering in such an amazing way. No negativity amongst the locals! Amazing. The YMCA has very comfortable rooms to suit everyone, is... More

I was there for 1 night before continuing my flight the next day. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, very helpful and quick to respond my needs. The location was good, only minutes away from central Christchurch. I stayed in a private single room, it has everything I need for that price. The only downside was it was really noisy,... More

We had a twin private room for 2 nights with a shared bathroom. The room was very spacious and the bedding was hotel standard. Bathrooms were close by and spacious and clean with hot powerful showers. The kitchen was quite small but as it wasn't busy when we were making food it wasn't a issue. Great central location and very... More
