We traveled to Christchurch as part of our NZ trip over New Years 2015-2016. Merivale was the first place we stayed in, on South Island. After a 20 hour flight, and 2 frustrating hours getting our rental car it was the perfect welcome for our super tired family. The hostess most graciously helped us out with stuff to help us...

We stayed there on our last night in NZ. The manager was there to welcome us and he was friendly and helpful. We had a room along the driveway which was great for us because of the luggage. The room was clean and okay from the size. We had a good last night and sadly left NZ.

This place is fantastic! Absolute charm all around, from the greeting by the staff and throughout our stay. Our room was clean, clean, clean! We were next to a busy road and I imagine it could be noisy during the week but if you are out exploring, you will be tired enough to sleep through it. It is close to...

We stayed here on our first night on arriving in New Zealand. The welcome was friendly and the room was comfortable. The spa bath was a welcome feature. The centre of Christchurch is walkable , taking the route through the beautiful botanic gardens. Restaurants in Medivale are close by and good. Thoroughly recommended
