This old victorian mansion has been restored and configured into a great B&B. The architecture and details are beautiful and professionally done. The hosts were friendly and engaging without being intrusive. An overall great experience and would highly recommend staying here.

Trish and Ray were awesome hosts. They shared with us information on the history of their home and their stay in Africa. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time during our 2 day stay.

We stayed in the elephant room (see photo) with 4 poster bed, fantastic. Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt and coffee or tea as you like it! Me? cappucino! Also a cooked breakfast, whatever you wanted! Very friendly owners, Trish and Ray. We will remember our stay here for many years to come!

We just spent two nights at this wonderful b&b. The accommodation was superb; everything you could want and more. We loved the African theme throughout the house which was originally built in 1902 and lovingly restored by the present owners. Ray and Chris were perfect hosts providing a delicious and plentiful breakfast and helping us find a great restaurant for...

Charming Victorian B & B. House has been restored with loving care and attention to detail, beautiful spacious bedrooms, very comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, perfect tea, owners are delightful company, reasonably priced. Would stay here again if we return to New Zealand. Ignore the bad review titled "lovely room of death". They should have known better if they have issues...

The Safari lodge is about a 15 min walk to the center of Invercargill. It is a renovated historic home that the hosts spent many years lovingly restoring. There are several rooms with an African theme and all are well appointed and large. You feel as though you have stepped back in time to "Periot" and expect a murder mystery...

This B&B was excellent, in a good location only a couple of minutes drive from the centre of town. We were greeted warmly by Trish and shown round the house - there's a dining room, lounge and a conservatory just for guests to use. You can therefore have time 'at home' without having to stay in your room. The house...

Had a wonderful stay here for 2 nights. Very comfortable rooms and Trish was a wonderful host. She went that extra mile to make dinner bookings for us and to make our stay memorable. Oh and did I mention the great cooked breakfasts? We will return!

If you like heads mounted on the wall and zebra skin hanging in the "lobby" you'll be right at home. I should have known with a name like safari lodge. My mistake. I'm sure some people would love it. Expect your credit card details to be entered into an online banking site instead of being swiped. And expect to have...

Thank you for your review ! We have many items on display celebrating our time in Africa and yes we have a zebra skin on display however we do not have any animal heads on display anywhere in the lodge. But we do have art work on display presented to us by community leaders for charity work in the villages...
