We spent two nights at the hotel in a good sized room with all facilities, a short walk to restaurants, cafés and attractions. The hosts were friendly and helpful and carparking was right outside the door. The internet was great, as was breakfast downstairs. The hotel has an old worldy feel to it but the facilities are modern.

This is an old property that has been very well maintained. The bathroom has been updated and was great. The room was spacious with high ceilings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no elevator and most of the rooms are on upper floors. The location is convenient to the main downtown ares. Parking is mostly across the...

I booked a room at the VRH solely on the picture of the hotel exterior: turns out it was built in 1896 and is a listed building. Inside, though, the owner has managed the near impossible feat of combining period charm and modern facilities. My room had a completely renovated bathroom (except a wobbly toilet seat) with a great shower...

This is a beautifully restored hotel. Opposite what looks to be what was Invercargill's train station that now is a YMCA. Even though there is a main street with shops behind the hotel, the hotel is on a very quiet street. Check in was at 3pm which is late-ish from my experience. Car parking was outside the front door but...

We booked the executive studio and we were positively surprised, it was spacious and very clean. The proprietor was very kind and helpful. The hotel in the town center conveniently located. Also breakfast was up to the usual standard. This lovely hotel in original old style can be only recommended but you must love the antique atmosphere.

We arrived in Invercargill during a rain and wind storm. We had just visited Bluff, at the bottom of the New Zealand South Island, having driven from Queenstown. The hotel is old, it smells old and looks old but it was clean and very presentable. It is managed by a young couple who are ernest and dedicated to their task....

Our room was very good and as I had broken my ankle prior to our booking we had to have a room suitable for a wheel chair . This all worked well I just sorry I didn't bring the plastic to put on my foot as the shower looked amazing. We had a nice breakfast and our hosts were helpful...

This place is a real treat. Gorgeous heritage building, full of old world charm inside with lovely decorative touches in the rooms. The staff were fantastic and made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed chatting with them in the bar and their dinner recommendation was spot on.
