Only had one night here but what a beautiful Hotel it was! This is a boutique Hotel with great decor and modern utilities to boot. It is centrally located in the city, walking distance to the night spots, movies, shopping. The host was friendly and most helpful and we would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose :)

We wanted to stay in a non corporate style hotel so this hotel seemed a good bet and it was. When we arrived , although it's not exactly in a scenic spot the interior exudes a bygone Victorian age through a good restoration. Our room was not in the least Victorian , the bed was excellent and the fittings in...

We were lucky to stay here for 1 night after a late cancellation. It has character and very friendly hosts. The whitebait fritters and our new Aussie friends were great!!! The hotel has been tastefully upgraded and yet still retains some old charm.

Clean room. The bathroom recently renovated. Downstairs dining room very nicely decorated. The wifi worked perfectly in our room. Several dining options in the vicinity. Lady in reception couldn't tell us where to park which was odd since we later found out the hotel has large parking area just on the other side of the street. All in all a...

We spent two nights at the hotel in a good sized room with all facilities, a short walk to restaurants, cafés and attractions. The hosts were friendly and helpful and carparking was right outside the door. The internet was great, as was breakfast downstairs. The hotel has an old worldy feel to it but the facilities are modern.

This is an old property that has been very well maintained. The bathroom has been updated and was great. The room was spacious with high ceilings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no elevator and most of the rooms are on upper floors. The location is convenient to the main downtown ares. Parking is mostly across the...

I booked a room at the VRH solely on the picture of the hotel exterior: turns out it was built in 1896 and is a listed building. Inside, though, the owner has managed the near impossible feat of combining period charm and modern facilities. My room had a completely renovated bathroom (except a wobbly toilet seat) with a great shower...

This is a beautifully restored hotel. Opposite what looks to be what was Invercargill's train station that now is a YMCA. Even though there is a main street with shops behind the hotel, the hotel is on a very quiet street. Check in was at 3pm which is late-ish from my experience. Car parking was outside the front door but...

We booked the executive studio and we were positively surprised, it was spacious and very clean. The proprietor was very kind and helpful. The hotel in the town center conveniently located. Also breakfast was up to the usual standard. This lovely hotel in original old style can be only recommended but you must love the antique atmosphere.
