The location well out of Queenstown was a bit of surprise we didn't expect. The hotel is like an older style spa or health retreat and is now a bit dated. But the room was large, with a good view of the river. The internet shut down just before check out time which caught us out. Whether that was a...

For the past few years, every time my family and I go to Queenstown we stay at the Nugget Point Hotel. You can't beat the views, especially in winter when there is snow around. The River View rooms obviously give you the best views as the hotel sort of sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Shotover River...

Only stayed for one night and booked here because we were struggling to find somewhere actually in Queenstown. The view from the river facing rooms is great and our room was comfortable and clean. The big disappointment was that the restaurant was closed and there were only bar meals available. The staff in the bar were good.

The view from our room was phenomenal and the room itself was beautiful. While the facility is older, it is well maintained and has all the amenities you could want or expect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent in the onsite restaurant. Even though the setting is very rustic and rural, Queenstown is only...

The Nugget hotel is definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed! My partner and I loved the sensual romantic feel with large timber furniture, spacious rooms and it had an old world feel that was deeply personal and luxurious.. The restaurant staff were extremely well trained and natural as were the other staff and prices were also...

We stayed for five nights at Nugget Point in September 2016. My fiancé and I travel quite frequently for leisure and business, therefore I believe we are pretty good at critiquing the service and amenities at major hotel chains and independent hotels. My initial reaction at walking in the door at Nugget Point is that it looked “quaint but dated.”...

Have stayed in a few hotels in Queenstown before but never at nugget point - boy were we blown away! There is no point AT ALL to stay anywhere else in Queenstown. The other hotels are all surround by other hotels which obstruct your views - but this hotel is the pinnacle of Queenstown. Tucked away in the hillside, you...

I didn't get to stay at a room with the view over the valley, but the restaurant does share the same view and it was a slight pity not to do so. The hotel itself feels a little dated but that's alright considering that the rooms were generously spacious and the hotel service was professional. While it's stated as part...

The reception staff are so friendly and helpful. One man in particular in reception had great customer service. We watched a movie in the cinema, and he unexpectedly brought us a large bowl of popcorn to have it with. The morning was a bit different, we waited for 35mins for our pancakes to come out. Then waitress started closing the...

Right from the moment one enters this property, this place takes you by surprise. This is surrounded by mountains and nature with shot over river view. Rooms are not very fancy but have old world charm to it! We really enjoyed the in-door pool and sauna. Hotel staff is very warm and always ready to help. This property is slightly...
