Observation Rock Lodge offers an incredible, luxurious experience on beautiful Stewart island. Owners Annett and Phil have created an oasis that is woven with elegance, creativity and serenity. Phil took me on a late afternoon kayaking trip that was great fun and exciting. We even saw an 8 inch sea horse and the healthiest starfish imaginable! The dinner and breakfasts...

We spent two nights at Stewart Island Lodge and would recommend it whole heartedly. Beautiful and luxurious and peaceful accommodation and rooms is a magnificent garden, looking out over tree tops to beautiful landscapes. Annett and Phil are warm, knowledgeable and extremely helpful hosts. Phil took us on a great tour around the island to orient ourselves and Annett cooked...

We were lucky enough to stay for a few days on New Zealand’s “third” island, the beautifully unspoilt Stewart Island. This incredibly peaceful and laid back place hosts the fantastic Observation Rock Lodge. From the very beginning of our experience, when I first emailed a request for availability, we were treated as honoured guests. We left feeling like friends. Annett...

It was sad to leave after 3 night! Annette and phil are unbelievably friendly, so down to earth, always pointed us in the right direction! We absolutely loved Annette breakfasts! And we booked phil to take us kayaking for 2 hours On a lovely calm morning we saw penguins, seahorses and star fish! We were very comfortable in the hosts...

As we were the only people staying (over Christmas) Annett upgraded us to the Lodge room. We appreciated that - it is a beautiful, comfortable room. The setting of the Observation Rock Lodge is spectacular - stunning views, and nestled in amongst leafy vegetation and the pretty garden. Much of the food is from their own garden and greenhouse, so...

Observation rock lodge?! Like a dream. My boyfriend and I chose to spend the night there. Best New Year eve ever. The place, the location, the food and the hosts are to die for. If you love good foods, Annet food is amazing and could be a 5 stars restaurant in France. Almost a week later we still think about...

Annet and Phil are the best hosts, and Annet a wonderfully talented cook. The lodge is nestled amongst a forest of plants. A magnificent view from our room. Also, Phil's tour of the island was very interesting. Stewart Island is a beautiful escape and well worth the visit.

Great accommodation, wonderful views and the best food that we ate in New Zealand. Annett and Phil have designed a home and a service where you can fall in love with Stewart island and we did. You should let them help you do the same.

There is nothing but positivity that comes to mind when I remember this holiday location. Phil & Annett where wonderful hosts whose knowledge and passion for the flora and flora of Stewart Island was incredible. The meals that where provided where something I have never experienced before and would gladly have anytime offered. I have no hesitation in recommending anyone...

We had a lovely stay in Stewart Island in February of this year. It was a spur of the moment decision and after reading other reviews on Trip advisor we decided to stay at Observation Rock Lodge. Luckily there was a vacancy and another couple cancelled so my sister and husband were able to join us. Anette was quick to...
