I spent a really nice and quiet week at Bob&Maxines, a really cosy and spacious hostel. It was very clean and a familiar place. I could imagine that they are very busy in summer, but in winter it is defenitely the best place if you need some time to calm down. I would love to be back again

This was one of the best hostels I stayed in in New Zealand! Bob and Maxine are very friendly and welcoming and Maxine brings free fruit everyday. The hostel is very spacious and clean, and has a great atmosphere. Also the view is amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here!

It is very unlike other backpackers with full of noise and activities.. Is quiet, quaint utmost comfortable.. Bob was really helpful and can easily ask him for help if u need anything. I stayed 2 nights and I could just seat on the couch, looking out the full glass doors and day dream whilst watching the sky.. The selection of... More

We arrived to a warm welcome from the very affable Bob And Maxine. Bob showed us around and introduced us to other guests. We stayed in the House in a double bedroom - very comfortable. The Backpackers Lodge had a huge common room with good views of the surrounding mountains. Facilities were excellent and the slow combustion fire kept the... More

Very confortable and clean backpacker accomodation in Te Anau. Bob and Maxine are very pleasant hosts and the place has all the amenities you need and a quite fantastic views on the surrounding mountains. The only downside is that the shutting door's sound could be annoying when the other guests are not carfeful.
