Our family received a warm welcome throughout our stay. The lodge itself is lovely. The rooms are comfortable and the library, with complimentary beverages and snacks, is a wonderful area to sit, relax, check email. Located in a quiet area it was an easy walk to town and restaurants. We were able to leave our vehicle while we took a...

Nice place, nice hotel with a perfect garden, nice host and nice food (the breakfast was simply superb!). The building has a peculiar history... The common area is very nice and you can drink tea, coffee, wine, etc. and delicious cookies. Breathtaking area (the National Parks, landscapes and sorroundings are simply amazing!). You can be there for a week and...

The lodge was a convent at one time that was moved to its present location. It has been completely remodeled to be a very comfortable and outstanding place to spend a night or longer if possible. Much attention was given to keeping many of the original building details like the stained glass windows, hardwood floors and the doors. The library...

A friend and I stayed here and really loved how nice, comfortable and enjoyable it was. While I read some reviews prior to staying about the rooms being small, we found they were quite comfortable. We stayed here because it was one of the few B&B's that accommodated friends needing 2 twin beds and sounded to charming to miss. We...

This is a beautifully restored convent, moved to a sit overlooking the lake. Dining room with stained glass windows and wood paneled library especially attractive. Rooms good with large bathroom. Wine and cake served in the afternoon in the library and excellent cooked breakfast. A pleasure to stay here. Hosts very attentive to detail

From the outside this property looks very modern, but it actually retains many of the features of the convent it once was. The room we were allocated (the Chapter Room) and although comfortable and well presented is right next door to the guest lounge with the coffee making facilities against one of its walls. Be prepared to listen to all...

Hi Brian, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and I'm sorry that your stay with us was not as enjoyable as you, or we, would have liked. As has been noted in other review replies the age of this historic building, and with it's wooden floors and walls that are thinner than a modern hotel,...

This is former convent, moved from a less desirable site to this beautiful property. We stayed in Mother Superior's Queen Room . . . a unique experience to say the least. The accommodations were comfortable, though the bathroom area was somewhat small. We heard Mother Superior didn't have an en-suite, so I suppose we should have felt fortunate. The hosts...

Hi Respitesearch Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. As you note our bathrooms aren't as big as a standard hotel because this is a period building that has been renovated and the bathroom en-suites were added to rooms that didn't have one originally. This is an attractive and charming B&B in a former convent, relocated to a large property with mountain and lake views, walking distance (longish walk) to central Te Anau.
