Birds Ferry is a lovely place to stay. Alison and Andre made us feel right at home and gave us excellent advice on exploring the beautiflul West Coast. With them as hosts, we'd also recommend sharing Alison's excellent meals the other guests. Great fun!

Wonderful cottage set in beautiful surroundings with some friendly ducks for neighbours. Cottage has been tastefully furnished and has everything you need for a very cosy and comfortable stay. Nice areas to walk around the cottage.

This B&B is beautifully situated in between Charleston and Westport. Alison is a great cook, André a good host. They give good advice about what to do or where to go. Nice rooms. The only negatieve point about this B&B is their WiFi : limited and very, very slow.

This is the first time in 14 years that we have had such feedback. Guest are provided with 500mb of complimentary high speed WIFI. I can...

We spent two nights staying in the secluded Ferryman's Cottage and the photos from the web-site were not as stunning as being there in person. Alison and Andre are fabulous hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival with their personal touches and delicious food. We loved the cottage which is perfectly set up to make...

Congratulations to Alison & Andre on creating this masterpiece lodge. You know that you are going off the beaten track to a special place when you drive down the long dirt entry road. What you are entering is not just a home to travelers, but a home to nature: to exotic birds, to a beautiful array of flowering plants, to...

We spent only one night at Birds Ferry, but what a lovely setting. We stayed in the Ferryman's cottage, which is like paradise on earth. We built a fire and enjoyed sitting on the porch with the beautiful pond, the ducks, and Andre's famous driftwood displays. The food was excellent, and the setting was perfect. We came to the Lodge...

We toured New Zealand for two weeks, staying mostly at B&Bs. Birds Ferry was our favorite and most memorable of all. We really wished we could have extended our stay but the schedule would not allow for it. We were lucky enough to stay in the Ferryman's Cottage. It was just great. The cottage is a stand alone cottage a...

We stayed at the Ferry Mans cottage, a self contained luxury cottage overlooking a valley filled with native bush and views out to the ocean. This place is a paradise in a remote location, set in private grounds. Luxury in the middle of the native new zealand bush. Hosts Andre and Alison made our stay unforgettable. We wanted for nothing,...
