Any resemblance between the web site pictures and promotional blurb - and what you actually get when you walk into the room - is an illusion. It's old and dated and the toilet/shower windows wouldn't work and the shower dripped, needing a wrench like grip to turn the taps off. The facilities were weird with the sink and vanity unit...

Stayed there one night and I wont make that mistake again. The room was very basic, and clean, but the smoke alarm was not connected as it was in pieces in the room. Both windows couldn't be opened or shut as they were fixed in an open position. Shower head ran all night and very little pressure in it when...

Shabby, shabby, shabby. From the minute I arrived at 12.30pm to a greeting of "Check in is at 2pm..." it was downhill. Smelly, like a fousty smell, in the room; dingy, tiny bathroom; NO toiletries - what the??? Paint chipped off furniture, the front completely missing off a drawer, a chair which was most rickety chair I've ever come across,...

Great for the price but in need of refurbishment. I'm happy to say it was great value for money considering we were there for the the Goulburn Blues Festival. Reception staff were a bit abrupt and I think overwhelmed having to deal with the bar & reception at the same time. Very central and would stay again. Hope an upgrade...

stayed two nights and switched three rooms: first had a funny electrical noise coming from wall, second had dusty smell, third had clear mildew which I think was from people turning off the noisy little fridge at night... Basically I did ok with the first room besides the noise from wall, so asked to change the next morning, Bob the...

We've been staying at the Astor for over 10 years (& the rooms haven't changed much!!!) BUT you get everything you need. Close to the bar, comfy beds and plenty of hot water ... what more could you need?

For the price its basic but when passing through its perfect place to stay rest and shower. Location is perfect position walk across the car park for a feed which was fantastic. atmosphere and food. Staff was friendly. Town is beautiful with loads of historical buildings. If you get a chance explore the town. Gets a little chilly.

We needed a place for only one night this was able to accommodate 2 adults and 3 kids in two separate rooms. But the rooms open straight to the carpark and did not feel safe, so we split the kids up and put an adult in each room. The rooms were basic. Walls dirty and smelt old. Sheets were clean,...

Only checked the reviews for the Astor hotel/motel after we had booked! Made me rather nervous - however we found a typical country town motel room with a comfortable bed, a small kitchen area containing an iron, ironing board, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery (even wine glasses). The bathroom was compact (the hand basin was located in the kitchen area)...
