We loved the experience - The location is ideal being an easy 20 minute walk along the Hunter River to the busy Honeysuckle area. However we found the Carrington Place Restaurant perfect for our celebration dinner and the service excellent. The Hotel room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. All staff were friendly and attentive.

We loved this hotel!! Room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Bathrooms beautifully kept and had amazing showers. The highlight though was definitely the staff who were warm, welcoming and so helpful! Breakfast was cereal, toast, juice, tea and coffee which was perfect for us. Plenty of parking, 5 min drive to Newcastle centre but excellent access to main roads out...

This hotel is awful! Impossible to find at night and the room reeked of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking hotel. The carpet in the bedroom was wet where the air conditioner had leaked and although booking for 4, there were towels for only 2. It is noisy too with port traffic commencing at 3am. It is over priced and...

Firstly, I apologize for any discomfort you experienced while you were a guest with us. Carrington Place was built in 1932 on a corner site of the main thorough fare of Carrington on Young Street and Cowper Street with well exposed signage. Your booking was received very late in the evening on New Years day and we do not have...

Our second visit to Carrington Place was even better than our first. I chose both starter and main from the specials board and was delighted with both. For dessert I had the much anticipated chocolate soup and I recommend it to everyone who loves chocolate you won't be disappointed. The atmosphere has a certain elegance that is missing at most...

When attending a conference we stayed 4 nights in the downstairs room with ensuite. Really lovely spacious room and enormous bathroom. The hot water in the shower kept going cool for some reason but importantly the bed was incredibly comfortable. Loved the way the heritage building has been renovated - very stylish The very friendly staff were so accommodating with...

I had reason to visit Newcastle last week and having previously dined at Carrington Place thought I would love to stay there rather than book into one of Newcastle's more anonymous hotel chains. My previous dining experience was excellent and the menu lived up to expertise of the Chef/Owner. Scott Webster's international experience. This restaurant is a little gem in...

We booked at Carrington Place after looking for somewhere cheap and clean. We weren't disappointed - the rooms were spacious and really nice. The shared bathroom was large and clean and close to the rooms. We had a great night sleep as the pub downstairs closes early. Definitely recommend!

I just wanted to say thank you for having accommodating, thoughtful and diligent waitstaff looking after me for dinner. It's been a long time since I've had meal service as good as I did on Saturday night. The food was fresh, fast and fabulous The accommodation is old- it's heritage, so don't punish it for the history. However, the owners...

The accommodation leaves a little to be desired, only because of the shared bathroom/ toilet and kitchen, I assume this has something to do with the heritage listing, but the rooms are very neat and the overall feel is good. With a wonderful guest room downstairs for a continental breakfast and relaxation time it feels as though you are staying...
