My wife and I stayed at the Grand on a Saturday night. The room we stayed in was on the top floor, it had plenty of room, was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The only grumble would be parking, but there is a parking station across the road.

We stayed on the top floor on a Monday night so it was extra quiet. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and modern decor. Great facilities for the price - air con, ceiling fan, USB connections by both sides of the bed, full size hair dryer, great big hanging cupboard, full size ironing board and iron, tea/coffee, mini fridge with wine... I really enjoyed staying here. I am not sure why, probably mostly because the staff were friendly and the food at the bar and the restaurant was pretty good. The room itself is 'quaint' - on the small side and a bit dark. But it felt romantic and I found myself being very comfortable and happy. I really enjoyed its... More

For those in lower floors the combination of street noise and the waterfall that is internal wall plumbing is just too noisy (e.g. Guests showering at 1am and it's impossible to sleep). Not sure how it is for upstairs guests. Decor pleasant and cleanliness is very good, rooms have been recently renovated. Bathrooms very stylishly tiled and fitted out, unsure... More

It's a pub foremost. Rooms were very basic but large and lovely balcony. Pretty noisy though as on street front and dripping shower and noise from upstairs. Expensive for what is was. Take a eye shade and earplugs as blinds inadequate and light from st streams in. Very close to the beach and centre of the city

The rooms are small - it is an old pub so don't expect hotel standards though the Grand is furnished well, with a modern touch with new bathrooms and nice linen. The rooms were surprisingly nice. The stairs have that old pub feel which I thought was pretty cool even though the smell of beer was prominent but that's what... More

This pub has a lovely atmosphere, moody lighting, seperate dining if preferred and terrific staff. I had a $30 steak which was tender and of good quality. Unfortunately, it wasn't medium as I ordered and the mushroom sauce was extremely thin and "runny" with no flavour. The salad dressing was overwhelming, flooding the plate. Perhaps just a one of. I... More

We just stayed one night in a small room, which is, as the name says it, small. But we were happy since it has all you need, there is enough space for everything and you're not staying in your room if you're in OZ anyway ;-) the hotel is close to the beach and it's a nice walk to Nobbys... More

The room was clean. Very very dated. Doors won't close. Paint coming off walls. Extremely noisy. Alarms going off during the night. Drunken patrons. Food is very good.Great stay for a tradie. Definitely not good for a family or romantic stay. Still to expensive for it's room decor.

Large corner queen room, opposite old courthouse and police headquarters. Quiet location on a weekend. No on site parking but easy to find a very close park on weekend. Very clean, convenient to central CBD and wharf area. Staff efficient and courteous. Good value for money.
