comfortable room, reading area , balcony sheltered from the rain, so we enjoyed sitting out there. hotel is in a comfortable walking distance of the sights of Newcastle. Decor is in art deco style, beds and pillows very comfortable, and though on the main street, very little noise in the room, as the windows are double glazed with heavy blockout...

Between the barman and the waitress in the Restaurant we have experienced the kindest customer service ever. The waitress suggested modifications to the special of the day for me as dairy/gluten intolerant and the barman let me taste till I could chose the right wine for me. Thanks guys. Really appreciated.

Close to restaurants, beaches, walking paths. Convenient parking arrangements. The efficient and friendly staff are helpful. I have stayed at the clarendon hotel on multiple occasions for the same quality.

Nice layout and nice furnishings. Bathroom was spacious, large shower but the shower head was terrible and disappointing. Air con was noisy. Upon check in I discovered reception was closed on Sunday. When I got hold of someone to help I was told I didn't have a booking and I shouldn't have been able to make a booking due to...

Great Location for downtown Newcastle, very central. Large clean rooms. Friendly staff and has a good restaurant. I had a $20 special dinner and it was delicious!! I was in town for a seminar at another hotel and was able to leave my car at the Clarendon and walk the 2 blocks to my course. The only little issue is...

Rude from the minute we walked in. The rooms were nice and the sofa bed was reasonably comfy. However, be wary as 2 of the bathrooms in the rooms our group stayed in did not drain properly. Our bathroom overflowed, and the water seeped into the carpet outside. A few days later we were charged for a carpet cleaning fee...

I stayed for one night on business. The room was recently refurbished and in lovely condition but the air conditioning was noisy and the parking was not below the hotel but around the corner. Very central, nice staff.

Stayed in this pathetic hotel. The boy at reception was arrogant and looked down on us from the minute we walked in. Had a problem with them charging more than nessesarry and making false accusations. Only to not be able to have the issues resolved. The place was nothing fancy and I just don't understand why the staff thought they...

This was a majestic hotel, Great Location and spotless. First night we were in a great room with outdoor balcony Where can you go and sit outdoors in a hotel today? Again we had fresh air. The only thing I can say I forgot to ask about Easter "are you open" and everything was closed at hotel. However a few...

We had a twin room at the front of the building which was very quiet and had a small balcony overlooking Hunter Street. It is within easy walking distance of several nice restaurants and has a reasonable menu of its own.
