The place looks uninviting from the outside but rooms were big and drab.Booked in Wed till Sat and the table and veranda were dirty when we arrived and stayed that way until we left.catch on screen door was broke,so we could not leave it open in the night.Breakfast was at best warm.No bacon poached eggs in the heated trays and...

Stayed at the Mercure for 2 nights and it was a great stay. Located next door to McGuigans and the Hunter valley gardens, the location is fantastic. Lovely big rooms with nice bathroom. Cosy lounge/bar area (just disappointed it closed at 10 during he week!) Didn't get to try out the pool due to rain but it looked lovely and...

Booked a room for 5 - 2 A & 3C. Better than most because they actually catered for families. Rang up and booked a 2 night stay - 1st night was squishy as we needed to share the king bed with our 7 year old son, who of course spins and spins at night. Reception said that they probably could...

We stayed 2 nights at the Mercure Resort Hunter Valley on Jan 9&10 2015, as a base for some Hunter Valley wine country touring and a pre-booked Hot Air Balloon Flight. As happens with ballooning, the weather was against us and our flight got cancelled - which was ultimately OK - as getting up at 4.30am after our Saturday wine...

A one night, two day stay to enjoy the Christmas Spectacular at the Hunter Valley Gardens. The service was excellent from the moment we stepped in. The room was clean and the bed was relaxing and what we needed after nearly a whole day at the gardens in nearly 40 degree heat. Park you car and don't bother driving anywhere...

We booked online and when we checked in it was a 30 second process. :) The room was clean and comfortable. Shower was quite good. Bed was comfortable. The grounds were nice. I would recommend skipping the breakfast and going elsewhere.

Dear zrxs12, Thank you for leaving such a great review on our trip advisor! We are disappointed our breakfast wasn't to standard; although there are a lot of great places to drive too in Pokolbin. We do look forward to welcoming you back in 2015! Kind regards, Lauren J Operations Manager Mercure Resort Hunter Valley Gardens

Returned with other relatives for the Christmas lights in the gardens. The convenience in location experienced last time was the main reason why we returned. I was hoping for an adjoining room again this time, but due to the peak season,we were located not far from each other. Reception was very friendly but again, did not provide additional information apart...

Dear AustTrail, Thank you for taking the time to review us on tripadvisor. I will address your concerns with our team managers; I am disappointed that our Guest Services team did not go beyond basic explanations of the area - we have tried to simplify this as we have found a lot of people felt us giving directions was time...
