The staff are the true asset of this place. From all aspects of check in and questions about local amenities they are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are a decent size and clean. Bathroom was large with good water pressure in shower. Storage is an issue – there was one small hanging space but no drawers to use to unpack other than small bedside table. As I was there for a 4 night stay I would have preferred not to live out of suitcase. Plenty of easily accessible power points. The onsite restaurant does not open fri – sun so on weekends you have to go offsite to find food. I was a solo female traveller and returning late at night but always felt safe – well lit at night but room curtains block out light so it doesn’t bother sleep. Even though it is on a main road the rooms are quiet. there is limited parking undercover but even returning late at night I was able to find parking on site Don't let the facade fool you - this is definitely a new, modern hotel with rooms that are modern and clean…
We spent 2 nights here on our "escape the city whilst there's no lockdowns" week away. Definite street appeal and the interior doesn't disappoint either. Nice big rooms and very modern. Absolutely lovely. We noted the restaurant doesn't open weekends and put that down to not trying to compete with the restaurants in town - but offering dinner on the nights when guests might struggle to find a good meal. If that's the plan, we like it. Accordingly, we had dinner in the restaurant for one of our nights and the meal was fantastic! Very central and convenient location - we could walk when we wanted to. Under cover parking was appreciated. Our only TINY thing (I can't bring myself to say negative or complaint) was that we couldn't access the front balcony directly from our room. Maybe that's a safety thing so we just had drinks on the back walkway - where cafe table & chairs for two is provided, perfect! Very experienced operators and a faultless stay as a result.…
3 visits to Tamworth in 6 weeks, and 3 different Motels, now I have found the one I want to return to, Despite the glorious facade, the Ashby is a very modern motel with excellent facilities and build quality. The room is a good size, great bathroom, Free WiFi, nice big television, everything you would expect from a well run modern Australian Motel. I had to divert to Tamworth as I was unable to get to Moree due to the March flooding, I was very lucky the Ashby had availability. Their in house restaurant. which has great reviews, is not open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, at the time of writing. This was a little disappointing, but as previous reviews have said, it is a lovely easy stroll into town for a great choice of pubs and restaurants. I'll be returning soon.
Stayed here for the night when passing through Tamworth. There is under cover car parking and it’s an easy walk into town. The accommodation was clean and tidy with everything you you need. Would stay here again.
This is a lovely looking place from the outside- just gorgeous. The room was a decent size. Nice big shower. Room and bathroom clean. Was able to park undercover. Friendly welcome at reception when I arrived. Enjoyed the dinner meal and breakfast. I found the air-conditioner in the room to be quite noisy and needed to turn if off to sleep. Overall I'd have to recommend this place.
