Detailed Reviews
After reading some of the reviews, I must have got one of the better rooms. My bed was comfortable although it was very squeaky, so I imagine much more activity than sleeping would've happened on it in the past. The shower recess and toilet and sink were just okay, but the soap dispenser which had fallen off the wall was stuck back on the wall with masking tape, and had no soap in it so it was useless. The shower did have a soap dispenser with soap in it though, and I didn't have to wait long for hot water for my 8:30am shower though.
I don't know how there came to be a hole in the shower door or why it has not been fixed, so I didn't touch it. There were lots of suspicious marks on the walls that look like they could've been there for months if not years.
The room itself had a weird smell, sort of like cabbage and old dust, which I couldn't get rid of even with the window open.
The only reason I'm not giving it 2 stars is the bed was good, I heard no outside noise, the shower had hot water, the fridge worked, and the location was good. Although I was there on a Thursday night, I imagine weekends might be noisier.

Unfortunately I had to travel for a funeral and this hotel was conveniently located and available. However, I can’t recommend this hotel due to the really lousy service. We discovered that there was no hot water, tried calling the on-call number (reception was closed), no answer. Left two messages. Ended up having a cold shower.
Called again during the afternoon, still no answer.
A day later (once home again) the front desk called, but no managers were available to discuss the issue.
I never managed to speak to a manager or anyone of authority.
Location fine, room small but clean, lot of noise from the road outside.

Rooms were OK, but dated and in need of some TLC and repair. Was told I had a great room at the desk, but was the worst room in the complex. 1 floor up and directly above a busy road. Tea & Coffee facilities but no cups etc. The most disappointing aspect was that a restaurant was advertised on site but had closed down months before. This was a deciding reason I booked this accommodation. Had to phone around to get a meal delivered. Was very disappointed in the lack of any kind of recycling also. I took my plastics/bottles etc to my next stop over 100kms away. There was not even a large recycling bin in the general waste area- how can the council allow this?

We lasted less than 5 minutes in our room, it had an over-powering smell and it was clearly not cleaned properly, the bedding did not look like it had been made properly or cleaned, there was what appeared to be old dried toilet paper around the window frames. The owners refused a refund, their response:
"The room is not dirty , just stained handled on the door. And we have stained ceilings.
We are a BUDGET accomodation, hence charges only $106.00 a night with free parking , stroll to the beach. in comparable to about $ 300 a night a block away which is the Novotel.
Sorry, we will not be making full refunds, We can compromise and give you a 50% refund"
There was no mention in any of their advertising that we could expect 'stains' with our room, yet they are clearly aware of it, you can see from the photo's it is not a stain on the door handle but a long term build up of grime. None of the surfaces looked wiped on the benches etc, it was clearly not cleaned in a Covid safe way.
I have added only a couple of the many pictures I could add.

This property looks ready for demolition. To be fair, I don't think the manager has a chance of presenting it at an acceptable standard. There was a disabled lady in the next room who kept approaching me and knocking on my door/wall through the night. The TV did not work- it had token rabbit ears for reception. The walls and carpet were in great disrepair (gross permanent stains, deep mould etc) and looked impossible to keep clean. The hot water took 5 minutes to start warming, another 5 to get hot. Lights from the advertising billboard were directed straight into the room. The windows were so decrepit they kept little of the busy road traffic noise out. International Roast coffee was the icing on a mouldy cake. I don't see how it could pass any sort of health/safety inspection. If I had the energy I'd ask for a refund.

Run way from this motel! It was less than the 3⭐️ that is advertised.
We booked for 3 adults, 2 bedrooms with 2 beds. What we were faced with was a tiny, tiny room with a single bed, fridge and small bench and the other room had a double bed and beyond the bed was the tiny, tiny bathroom.
Now, having to share this “space” with 3 adults, was a bit of a joke. You would have had to shimmy around the double bed to get to the bathroom and if you wanted to sit to watch tv, that was out of the question as there wasn’t anywhere to sit!
TV…..another subject. Unless you had a Google account, you couldn’t watch TV. This, I don’t understand. Never have I come across this conundrum. We asked for a refund and that was another issue. After much angst and consternation, we finally received proof that the refund had been processed.
Not happy Jan!

Tired entrance and reception area, didn't really expect much for the price for $134, but did expect the place to be clean.
The stairway to smell like damp and the doors have the number typed on paper and sellotaped on.
The room we where allocated was something - old and tired with every single curtain and net with a rip in it or off the curtain rails.
The bathroom had mould in the shower and the towels where stained with some brown stuff.
We didn't stay. Management has refused to give a refund.
Completely stuffed up our day, came to Wollongong for a wedding from Sydney, and decided to drive home instead.

I don’t know where to start.
We booked a room on Australia Day weekend, no other accomodation available so we’re happy just to get somewhere. We travelled 2 hours to be told the room was cancelled. So we were stuck in Wollongong with nowhere to sleep, we had a function to attend and needed showers etc before going so we missed the whole night. When I emailed the manager to express my disappointment, all I received back was, “ sorry for the inconvenience “
Don’t go to this Fawlty Towers of Wollongong. If I could give it Zero rating I would.

Avoid this dreadful hotel. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. No air conditioning in room, no tv remote, stains on bed sheet and blood stains on towel.
Only one pillow per person. No one at reception after 6.00pm . Felt very unsafe staying there and couldn’t wait to leave. Old food left in fridge and not cleaned out.
Not somewhere you should stay, it really spoilt our time in Wollongong.
