Hotel's Favourite
We have stayed here twice before and will certainly come back. Reasonable and comparable price. Very roomy. Wonderful big bed - roomy bedroom. Good sized bathroom; good sized dining room; well-equipped kitchen. You could comfortably stay here for an extended stay and feel at home. Big TV in the lounge room however only tiny screen in the bedroom. Breakfast was good and economical - fresh cooked. Lovely staff. Easy parking. Close to beaches, pathways, restaurants. Good location.

I've stayed here before for business, and now was a leisure trip. Sorry to say it was quite disappointing. The room was the same as last time - spacious, quite clean, modern, kitchen, free parking - but still has uncomfortable lounges. The bed is a bit hard, but we were provided with a blanket and extra doona to assist with this. The bedroom curtains won't keep the light out at dawn, but it's still an OK room. Understanding the issues of pandemic conditions, the problem was the hotel amenities were largely not operating but there wasn't enough info on this prior to arrival. It's not good enough to include in hotel amenities listings 'breakfast' 'fitness centre' and 'exercise room' when the gym is closed and the buffet breakfast not operating. Technically I could have ordered a continental breakfast the night before for delivery, but the room is not all that comfortable to sit around in. The website line 'Food and beverage options at this hotel may be limited or unavailable at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause' is included. If you can write that, you can write 'Gym Closed' and 'Buffet Breakfast' not available. The latter is made all the more pertinent given the adjacent Towradgi Hotel is also currently closed (for renovations), so dining options by foot are very limited. Had we had more info on dining limitations we would have booked elsewhere. On the upside there's plenty of sanitiser in the foyer areas and the staff are friendly.

We stayed here in a 1 bedroom apartment for 1 night over long weekend. It’s very close to North Wollongong restaurants, a $10 Uber ride.
The apartment was clean and had a kitchen with everything you would expect or need. There was an iron and ironing board in a cupboard. The bathroom was clean and had good water pressure. The double sized bed was comfortable.
The apartment had a large reverse cycle split system air conditioner which heated the apartment nicely. There was a television on lounge room which had some Foxtel channels and a television in the bedroom.
I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to our next trim.

I stayed for two nights and I found Pioneer Sands wonderful. The rooms were very clean and roomy. I stayed in the one bedroom apartment with balcony. Very modern looking apartments with all facilities in the room which you require for a wonderful couples or family stay.
The bedding was very comfortable and the pillows were to die for. Sleeping was not a problem whatsoever. Televisions with cable were in the living area and in the main bedroom.
The apartments also have an outdoor pool which was a plus. Very close to the Towradgi Beach Hotel, parks and beaches and only 5 minutes drive to Wollongong CBD.
I would recommend a stay at Pioneer Sands due to the very clean apartments together with the wonderful staff who were very approachable and friendly.
Thank you for my stay.

Room was a good size and well appointed outside of air conditioning and TV.
Room (Level 3) was over $300 a night. Single split system AC in main room nothing in the bedroom. Curtains were ripped. TV in bedroom was old and tiny.
Worst experiance was the staff on check in go through 2 pages of rules for our stay. My work takes me to many hotels from really remote towns to 5 star hotels. Never have I been treated like a a high school student on a camp.
Guest pillows had no pillow cases. Bathroom fan made more noise than a rave party next door.
I would stay somewhere else

Love the size of the room and how new everything is.
The bed is very comfortable
Very close to the beach walking distance,Wollongong is 5 - 10 min drive .
Beautiful walking tracks to Wollongong harbour.
Seaclif Bridge is probably a 45 minute drive but definitely worth it.
Kiama is probably the same 45 minutes away

This was out 3rd stay here. That in itself says a lot.
Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. Rooms are clean and extremely comfortable.
The facilities available will meet almost everyone's needs.
The staff are excellent and go beyond to make your stay enjoyable.
Location is very central
Will have no hesitation in staying here again and already looking at booking again later in the year.

I booked a family holiday at this property by calling the property directly and speaking to Olivia on 11th October 2021. I told her that we would have 5 Adults, 3 Children under 12 and a baby. She suggested that I book 2 Two Bedroom Apartments and when I arrived there was an issue with bedding. Paid extra.

Choice hotels asked me to submit a review then refused to publish it, so here is my review...Smoking area right below our 2 bedroom apartment meant we had to keep the balcony door closed until 9pm because of the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke and incessant coughing. Reception staff unfriendly and we even heard one of them mocking an Asian housekeeper in an Asian accent. The housekeeping staff were lovely and reception could learn some manners from them. Apartment was spacious but you have to go to reception if you wanted anything for the kitchen like a frypan. Kettle was disgusting. Rooms need an overhaul. As do reception staff.

Modern property. Spacious rooms which were well cleaned and looked smart upon entrance. I like having a sofa in the room. The swimming pool was tiny but nice to have a dip when it was hot. The claim that it takes only 55 minutes to the airport - technically this might be right in the middle of the night with no traffic. It took us 85 minutes……I would probably choose to stay again, but next time will allow more travel time.
