Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for just over a week.. Site by the waterfront.. There was only 1 place with 3 taps for 3 sites.. Not ideal.. The toilets and shower area didn’t look clean and there was a space of 3 days where the same dead cockroach was in the corner of the shower area.. The camp kitchen wasn’t much.. Had to pay to use the stove and seeing as we’d already paid over the odds for the site, we made do without.. Also noticed a sign up in the laundry stating if you don’t collect your laundry in time then they’ll take it away and charge you $10 per bag to get your washing back from reception.. Was great that it was close to the beach and some of the staff were friendly but I really don’t think I’d stay again..

We stayed in the budget cabin, it was lovely & clean had everything we needed, only suggestion would be to put a screen door on the entry door so to keep bugs out, as having No Aircon it was nice keeping the entry door & sliding door open to allow air flow.
The pool was fun to swim in at the end of the day, everything is close by, short stroll to the beach, nice pub across the road, bbq facilities, putt putt was fun.
Would visit again.

I booked into the Surf Leisure Resort Wollongong Resort for 2 nights on the 19th and 20th of March with my g/daughter Emily, as I had to have a procedure at the Shellharbour hospital, the staff at the reception were all very friendly and smiling they could not have been more helpful, in no time we were shown to our cabin which had a double bed and set of bunks, the rooms were clean, fresh with plenty of coffee tea milk and milo along with sugar salt and pepper and biscuits. also large fridge, stove. microwave, Netflix and Wi-Fi at night time one could not hear a pin drop there was no noise whatsoever, even with children at the resort. Emily enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool, I enjoyed the piece and quite, I opened the curtains and door in the morning only to be greeted with 2 yellow tops cockatoos and king parrots, this resort is very affordable and I would recommend to anyone wanting a time away from the busy life. If I have to go to the hospital again I will be sure to book my accommodation at the Surf Leisure Resort. Happy Travellers Kath and Emily Hay Moruya NSW

Thanks, Kathleen, for staying with us and for your detailed and kind review. We hope that you continue to recover well from your hospital stay and we hope that your family do stay with us again over the coming summer. Maybe the cockatoos and parrots will be there again.

My daughter had not been well and was due to be married. We chose to seek accommodation and advice from the wonderful people at Wollongong Surf Leisure Resort and the immediate family stayed two nights in the Terraces where we had a casual BBQ and buffet to celebrate after a Celebrant performed the marriage on the beach nearby. Thank you for assisting us with the organising the entry of the stretch limousine which took the family to the beach. It was a lovely weekend and the children were all able to unwind after all the excitement with a swim in the pool.

My partner and I booked here for 2 seperate trips 4 days apart due to working commitments in between. The website said they would be doing social distancing and thermometer checks due to the pandemic. No such thing was done upon arrival. It was extremly busy being time of year and school holidays. No one was social distancing. Cabins had joining walls and can hear everything from chairs being constantly moved and scrapped along the ground to chatter through the walls. Holiday makers were constantly using our stair case to walk to their cabins instead of their own and looking at us while laying on our beds. Neighbours were loud and didn't stick to restrictions at the time with too many people in their cabin. Upon check out we voiced our concerns and decided to cancel our second trip as Wollongong was a hot spot at the time. The declined our refund despite concerns and said they have a 10 day cancellation policy which is disappointing as we have been dealing with a pandemic for 12months and they have no relaxed cancellation policy unlike other places. There was no compromise and we were left out of pocket of almost $600 as we weren't happy and didn't feel safe to go back at the time. Would hate to book here again and have to cancel due to covid and have them keep my money instead of understanding the times we are living in. Won't be returning.

Dear Vacationer605246, thank you for staying with us and for your detailed feedback. WSLR has both tourism cabins with their own amenities, and camping sites which usually require guests to make use of common amenities. All people coming into camping sites which make use of the common amenities have been temperature checked on arrival. As a further measure, every second shower and every second toilet in the common amenity blocks has been disabled to support social distancing. The showers in the common amenity blocks in the changerooms of our swimming pool complex have also all been disabled all summer to support social distancing. Some accommodation cabin styles are close together. Noise can travel. We are sorry about the noise and activity from the holidaying families. We do have a 10pm noise curfew and had multiple security guards patrolling overnight during our peak period to assist to contain guests’ noise. The security service phone number is actively promoted to all incoming guests to facilitate everyone’s cooperation. All cabins are limited to the number of people that the accommodation supports, which would be less than the NSW Health cap. NSW Health Regulations cap was 10 people per holiday cabin in this region during this period. This property sought to provide practical options to every guest so that no guest was required to lose any value on any booking due to Covid. The applicable options varied on a case by case basis, depending on the terms under which the accommodation had been booked. As a minimum, if any booking were not able to be taken due to Covid, and WSLR were advised with reasonable notice, credit was maintained in full for 24 months. Not everyone was entitled to a full refund, yet we sought to support everyone to have a way to maintain full value for every dollar they had paid. It is not possible to review your booking without your details, so all we can offer is that if anyone has any concern about the way their cancellation has been treated, they are welcome to ask for their case to be reviewed, and can do so by writing to us with your details and booking references at enquiries@wslr.com.au. Thank you again for your detailed comments, and hoping that you reach out to us.

we enjoyed the stay. it seemed well organised. Only one thing the floor that joins all the units together is so damn noisy. we were awaken many times through the two nights by kids and others walking and running along the floors of their units. That part I could only give a 3/10 rating. We were there to enjoy a very restful time. I'm sure we affected others as we walked along our floors as well. the sound along the floors is overbearing. you don't hear anything else. It was pouring outside but it was virtually silent but the ecco along the floors was overbearing. I don't know it this will help. Also the cleaner only carried in a towel when he went into clean the unit next door. I didn't see any sprays or cleaning cloths?? in these times sanitizing when cleaning is of utmost importance. It seemed that he was just tiding up not cleaning.

Thanks for staying with us and for your constructive feedback. We agree on the importance of sanitizing when cleaning. We have replaced all of our old carpet floor coverings with hard floors, which are much more hygienic, but are not always as accousticly forgiving as a soft flooring surface. Our housekeepers work in pairs and work out of vehicles, usually golf buggies. The person carrying a towel could likely have been doing a quality assurance review, or a towel replacement if a guest had requested it.

Stayed here overnight - it was not long enough!
The indoor heated pool and spa was fantastic, however we did not have enough time for tennis, basketball, or mini golf.
Cabin was cosy large bed with a bunk bed and had a kitchenette equipped with a microwave, stovetop and a decent sized fridge + freezer.
Staff were very friendly and helpful - local restaurants can deliver straight to your cabin, however they may only accept cash on delivery.
Will definitely consider coming back to this place in the future.

+1
I find it hard to reconcile the negative comments with our experience for a group of 15.
We had cabin 202, a 4br house which wad the base for our dining activities and accommodated 5. We also had 5x2br cabins. The cleanliness wss as good as any 5 star hotel. Crisp sheets, great pillows and all you needed for accommodation.
The 4br house was big enough to cook for 15 of us including hot breakfasts, and a BBQ and able to seat us all using the balcony table. The Weber BBQ was a bonus.
Friendly staff and excellent conference room facilities with AV from PC to screen and plenty of room highlight how great this is for small groups. Close to the beach which our group used for walks and swims.

I organised a work conference over two days which included accommodation and use of the conference f facilities.
While only 14 people it was an ideal location. Accommodation was excellent. We had the 4br house and 4x2 bungalows. Comfortable accommodation and as a group we were able to cook and eat all meals together in the House which had crockery and cutlery for twelve. The Weber BBQ got a workout with a BBQ and two breakfasts serving up great food.
The conference facilities were great and air conditioned.

WSLR is the perfect place to stay, whether it be for singles or families, business or pleasure. First and foremost, the staff members are so welcoming and helpful, you know you have made the right choice by staying there. Nothing is too much trouble for them, the lovely ladies at reception always greet you with a beautiful smile and conversation, and are very knowledgeable, which leaves you with a refreshing feeling.
Secondly, the rooms are spacious, easy to locate, and have all the mod cons that you require. Onsite car parking in front of your unit is available, as well as plenty of activities for the family to enjoy around the resort.
Also located close to shops and restaurants, makes WSLR your place to stay when traveling away.
Highly recommend to all.
