Detailed Reviews
Firstly - location, location...can't beat it
But the place grew on us and I appreciated the work the management has done to fit everything into the rooms, which were well kitted out and thoughtful
The car park is a problem and maybe some fly screens would be welcomed. Some traffic noise but not liek a major highway
If you get a good package deal, the Atlantic is a good bet
that being said, an additional $100 was deducted from my card as noted': hope it comes out in the wash

Despite obvious internal renovations in the rooms the bones of this building are from another era. On the positive we had a 10th Floor room overlooking the city and hills, with floor to ceiling windows from our compact but adequate room. The bed was comfortable and we would have had a good night’s sleep if the rooms were better insulated. But we could hear other guests moving around, talking, dropping things on the floor, running their spa bath for up to 3 hours, and none of those things would be a problem in a modern building.
Being very COVID conscious the motel has a fully automated check in procedure and no staff are visible or interact. But it makes the experience a bit like entering a vault. There’s been no effort to update the lobby area or make it bright and welcoming, but then nobody is going to linger there during a pandemic.
Location is good.

Our room was on the 10th floor facing south east. We had an amazing view seeing the city, the Adelaide hills and Jetty Road (At night this looked even better). The room was very modern, with a nice sized TV. The weather was great for a beach side holiday. The short 300m walk to the beach was very convenient..... the fridge was very quite and ensured we had ice cold drinks upon return, the air conditioner worked great and allowed a great nights sleep. The bed was very comfortable. Check In and Check Out was contactless and very simple.

In a nutshell, do not stay here!! My partner and I just wanted some time alone for a single night so we thought the romantic view would set the scene. The view was the one and only nice thing about this hotel. Construction going on everywhere, no staff on site, walls paper-thin, loose taps, leaky bathroom and bed looked like it was half made. To add insult to injury, they took $100 deposit from my credit card on top of the room cost and its been 3 weeks and i still havent got it back. Will never stay there again!

Response from atmi760, General Manager at Atlantic Tower Motor Inn
Responded 27 May 2020
Hello Tony, Clearly your night with us earlier this month wasn’t up to your standards. For that, we apologise. There must have been something substantial that had gone awry during your stay to make you so upset that you felt a need to not tell anyone at the time, then wait 3 weeks, then write a review here, embellishing and dramatising to the degree you have. Whatever happened that upset you to this level, and made you feel like you didn’t want to bring it up during your stay, we are sorry. We do thank you for the nice comment on the view from our rooms, but the fictitious comment that there was construction going on everywhere is highly unwarranted. During your stay, no construction took place. None. Nada. Zip. There was however a fence around the outside and some scaffolding at our entrance that doesn’t look very pretty. Look, we don’t think it’s pretty either, and we appreciate that walking past it for a few seconds as you enter and exit the foyer might turn some people’s smile into a frown. Regarding your assertion that there was no staff onsite. While we have not had people onsite 24/7 for many years now, we very much still have staff onsite daily. Even during this COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve worked very hard to dramatically reduce risk to staff and our customers, including taking measures such as communicating via the phone rather than face to face where possible. The signage in your room, the pre-arrival emails you received and the signage in the foyer make mention of the fact we are still at your beck and call 24 hours a day; but we’re doing our part by abiding by social distancing best practices. As for paper thin walls. Sorry, but no. Solid brick, or triple-layer acoustic sound deadening – that is what we have between rooms. Unless there was a full-on party going on next door, we struggle to understand how you might come to describe the walls as you have. We didn’t get alerted to any disturbance that night (or invited to any party), so we are at a loss as to why you mention this. Loose taps and a leaky bathroom – now I’m getting confused. We don’t see how the mixers in that room are loose or leaking. We’ve checked, and then checked again. Perhaps the next guest was a good samaritan who was an off-duty plumber? I guess we’ll never know. The bed being half made – again, we’re in the middle of a pandemic. Sorry, but we felt the best way to ensure that we are reducing risk to our customers is to rapidly adapt and be overly cautious. And that meant removing some items that are there for aesthetics, like the bed cushion and runner. It is risk mitigation 101, and we’re sticking to it until the situation improves. Finally… there was indeed a preauthorisation of $100 to cover any incidentals you might have had during your stay. This requirement you were notified about 1) before you made the booking, 2) in your confirmation email, and 3) in the terms and conditions you accepted before checking in. This was not money taken out of your account, but rather, it was a reduction in your credit limit by $100. Accordingly, it would not be ‘transacted back to you’ per se, because it was never ‘taken out’ of your account. So, you won’t see that amount flow back into your account. Instead, the initial hold will disappear. In saying this, if this has not disappeared and you can still see the hold, by all means, please phone, email, post a letter or even smoke signal us. This type of thing can happen, and of course, we are more than happy to help get it sorted. Coming back to my first point, we’re sorry that you didn’t have a fantastic stay. It’s what you wanted – and whether you believe it or not, that is actually the goal for us too. So in future, if you’re staying at a hotel, dining at a restaurant, or grabbing a quick takeaway coffee from a café… if you have a problem or a concern – please let someone know so they can fix it for you. It’s our job. Literally. Best Regards, James Brown General Manager

The good aspects are the motel’s proximity to Jetty Road with its shops and cafes, and the tram and beach being near by. The room was clean, though a tad noisy, it sounded like pipes banging (intermittently), particularly at night, no view and the towels seriously need to be replaced. They’re of a poor quality and don’t grip onto one’s skin to get dry. A microwave in the room wouldn’t have gone astray.
The new manager is great, very friendly and helpful, and keen to do a good job.
However, can only give three stars as it’s average accommodation.

Stayed for 4 nights in a balcony room (#100). Had a little trouble with getting my room key via the automated check-in box due to my booking being through Qantas. The lady on the helpline was fantastic. The room on level 10 had amazing views to the sea and up the patawalonga. The room was "tired" but everything worked well. The Wifi worked very well. The room came with free parking. The location is great. Close to the beach, Jetty Road and the tram to the city. Will stay again, especially if I can get room 100.

My room was clean, bed was OK, plenty of extra pillows or blanket if needed. Pretty much used to room to sleep and leave my luggage as was going out every day.
Very close to public bus stops as well as the Moseley Square tram stop. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby as well as the Coles just few hundred meters away.
Although the outside exterior and interior was little shabby and very outdated, I was satisfied with the room and location.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay. The room, bathroom and balcony were scrupulously clean. The bed was super comfy and I loved the lower pillows so much that I wanted to take them home! We had a room on the 11th floor and the view was great. For a quick stopover, you really can't ask for more. Tea, coffee, toaster and electric kettle are all provided. Easy walking distance to the water and restaurants. Nice sized TV. The only complaint we had was that there was a hot-cold-warm 5 second cycle with the water in shower. It made showering rather uncomfortable.

Room was clean and spacious enough for a couple of nights. Check in is self serve and parking is available for free. I thought that I read that rooms were not serviced every day and was surprised to return and find that my room had been serviced after night 1. Close to Glenelg beach and the surf club.

Not a nice place to stay, unless you don't mind smoke smell, and no sleep. Had a 4 night stay, had to ask for clean towels, milk, tea, coffee etc. No housekeeping at all.
