I like old hotels with character and chose this hotel. Room No. 1 was large with a king size bed and a single bed. The bed was really comfortable. The lady said the previous owner ordered a container of mattresses from overseas and they have had so many good comments about the mattresses. The hotel provided cooked breakfast in a...

Stayed 3 nights here to explore Launceston. Very friendly owners who cooked a customised breakfast for me and offered travel advice. Spacious room with fireplace, spa and comfortable bed. The steep driveway, small car park and steps to hotel were challenging but the city views were compensation for these things. The courtyard was right outside my window where smokers enjoyed...

They were so friendly, the room was so top notch, the BED(I wanted it shipped to my place), was very relaxing.Breakfast was cooked on spot, so was piping hot, with everything perfect.Rooms are extra large so no tripping over your cases.

We stayed one nite before heading on a road trip around Tasmania. Very nice old building with large rooms, was told that it used to be the mayor's house. They have a new wing with a modern cafe as well. Owner is friendly and warm.

Beautiful historic hotel. Large comfortable rooms with comfortable beds at a very reasonable price. 10 minute walk into the centre of Launceston. Friendly owner. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We arrived early morning after a night fight, phoned to see how early we could check in and were told we could straight away. Owners go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They changed our room to suit our needs without us even thinking if asking. Yes some of the decoration is past it's best but...

We spent a night here in October and was quite enjoyable. The reviews we had read, after booking it, were mostly negative and a large amount were relating to the management. On arrival we were greeted at reception by a very friendly and helpful individual who explained they had recently taken over the hotel and was trying to turn it...

This was my second stay in Waratah on York and I'm really pleased with my choice! The room was spacious with a great view over the city, with the city Park and its famous monkeys just across the road. The city centre being a 10 min walking distance. The hotel itself is now owned and run by an Australian family,...

Stayed here for two nights in September. As we arrived early in the morning, we were hoping to be able to leave our bags, but the lovely owner was most helpful and checked us in immediately. Our booked room wasn't ready, so we were upgraded to a beautiful room complete with four poster bed, fireplace and separate spa room with...

The new owners have quickly made an amazing difference to the experience at this B&B. It offers both old world heritage style and new modern style accommodation. Take you pick. We chose a beautiful room with a four poster bed in the historic building. The room was very spacious with high ceilings, a spa bath and a magnificent view out...
