We travelled as a couple and stayed one night in the Marchioness (French) room on the top floor. We had picked the Edenholme for its old world charm and were not disappointed. Paul had beautifully restored this old Estate home back to its former glory and it is in a peaceful, quiet setting away from the main road into town.... More

Hi Bronte, thank you for the review, I am surprised that with the generosity of your comments you only scored us 3 o/o 5. Also there is no charge for the internet, I don't know where you got that from regards Paul More

Really nice old house and paul and Rosie are very friendly and accomodating. The room had lovely antiques. It was quaint and would be a nice place to base yourself on a holiday. I was working most of the time but the room was comfortable. If you like meeting people then this is the place as you can choose to... More

Nice hotel, fairly friendly manager whom lives on site and it makes u feel a little watched over and uncomfortable using the common area as it is equally their living room. The rooms themselves are lovely, little worn and not as neat as their photos but give you a cozy heritage feeling. Would stay again for a single night once... More

Hi Linda, Thank you for your feed back, Good or bad it is always useful for us. I am sorry you felt "watched over". The lounge is a common area to be used by all. When guests use the lounge we vacate the area unless the guest wish to engage us. In 20 years of operating, it has never been... More

Beautiful guesthouse, with friendly service. Lovely attention to detail in all the rooms and the gardens were peaceful and tranquil. Reasonably priced for such a unique location and experience. Not too far from the town centre, but in a nice secluded and quite area.

Lovely old homestead run by friendly couple. The room was warm and comfortable for mid winter in Launceston. The breakfast was excellent value with fresh fruit included in the continental. Food options are a walk into town, as it is a bit off the main drag. The facilities are a bit cramped, but everything worked.

We stayed there the first and last nights of our holiday in Tassie. Paul was very helpful. The beds comfortable. Highly recommend staying at Edenholme. Has lots of character, beautiful rose garden. Restaurants are within walking distance

I had an urgent overnight trip to Launceston and checked TripAdvisor for a room. This was one of two available in town on the busy Pennyfarthing Challenge weekend at nearby Evandale. Quite literally, all I needed was to put my head down by around 10:00pm, ready to depart at 7:30am. All right, then, an admission: I would not otherwise have... More

My wife and I stayed at the Quality Inn Edenholme Grange for one night. We were in town on holiday, travelling from the NT, and had no idea that our evening stay would coincide with the Launceston Cup. As such, two weeks out we had trouble finding a place to stay but were fortunate to obtain this booking through hotels.com.... More

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with Choice Hotels. We enjoyed meeting with you, a Choice privileges member, and are pleased we exceeded you expectations. Just to correct a misunderstanding on the origins of the house. It is a Victorian Mansion built as a Gentleman's residence back in 1881 by Captain Ditcham, a retired sea... More

Loved this place, it's away from all the noise and the owner and his wife are lovely. This is not your run of the mill standard hotel - every room is different! Mine has beautiful wood floors, an amazing spa bath, massive comfy bed and a heritage rustic look. I loved it. If you are looking for a standard boring... More

“Depends in what you are looking for? We wanted a four post bed. Paul let us look at the other rooms, Any would be great. Our room was off the side, but entered into the dining room; if you have trouble with stairs and steps, avoid it, and shower over the bath. However the closed in Varandah was nice. Remember, its an old house, be prepared for imperfections, after 132 yrs its still standing! Ask Paul of its history.”

“If you prefer modern impersonal hotel rooms with no character DO NOt STAY HERE. It is a very old house therefore has the character and nuances of a heritage property. Eg Creaky floors, creaky beds.”
