At Kaani Grand Seaview, guests are often captivated by the comfortable and well-maintained rooms that boast stunning views, although a few mention the walls can be thin. The hotel's prime location is a highlight, with Bikini Beach and local dining just steps away. While the service has garnered mixed reviews, many guests commend the friendly staff, despite some organizational hiccups.
Travelers have varying opinions on value, but cleanliness and amenities like beach access and complimentary sunbeds generally receive high marks. The welcoming atmosphere, complete with thoughtful touches, contributes to the overall positive experience.

Detailed Reviews
Firstly all staff wears masks (not the case in arena hotel near by) and there are desinfectant dispensers everywhere.
Bikini beach is just in front of the hotel and free sunbeds are available for hotel guests.
If you wake up late you can always rent a sunbed for 5 USD from the other provider.
The ocean in front is kids friendly, with warm, shallow water.
Room(deluxe seaview) is decent sized, newly furnished with amazing views from the balcony. Safe and tea/coffee facilities provided. Bathroom has walk in shower. Beach towels are provided.
We ate dinner every night at the restaurant and it was delicious and fresh. Fish(mainly grilled tuna),chicken, veggies, spaghetti, rice, soup, salads and deserts among the choices.
We had lunch at kaani palm near by and it was not so good. Bland, fast food like.
Also kaani grand is quiet and relaxing but kaani palm is at this moment surrounded by construction noise(expanding the hotel) so noise until late in the evening is certainly an issue at kaani palm.
Staff is well organized and friendly giving the final touches to a great stay. They also arrange PCR test at the nearby hospital (85usd ,result in less than 24h).

Well I along with my wife stayed here in Kaani Grand Seaview for 4 days & 3 nights. I cannot express my feelings and thought about the Hotel. The best Hotel I have ever stayed in, the staffs are so friendly and helpful from beginning to ending of the trip. Hotel people will greet you in the Airport and will take you to your room and the same they will do when you checkout. Food is also good and the main thing is that the location of the hotel is perfect where you can see the sunset and can relax in the beach whenever you want. I really cannot imagine how people can be so polite and gentle, really Maldivians are really gem.
Will recommend to everyone and also if in future I visit Maldives then definitely will stay in this Hotel only.

As holding work permit visa for 5 years in Maldives, had heard a lot about Maafushi regardless of the locations, hotels and activities. And this time My friend and I decided to make this trip and recently visited Kaani Grand sea view.
You can take the speed boat transfer from either Male the capital or from the international airport. Both of them are convenience, we took the transfer from airport as we have luggage kept at the luggage storage. The speed boat transfer took about about 30 minutes to reach the island. At the moment we arrived at the jetty, hotel representative Kawsar received us, and escort us to the hotel. He is very helpful and friendly by helping us check in and giving all the informations needed.
Accomodation was spacious and clean with beautiful sea view in front of you comes with a balcony where you can chill spending sometimes having coffee and even sun bathing. Thanks to our housekeeper Masud who clean our room every morning without you even realized while you are having your breakfast.
Kawsar also very helpful by giving suggestions of excursions. We took a package for island hoping and snorkeling with lunch included. We enjoyed a lot especially the last snorkeling point with full of colorful fishes surrounding you closely. The boat crews and captain are all very helpful on the boat and assist for non swimmer and guide them closely for snorkeling too. They are assisting all the guests taking photo and videos while you are in the water, in the evening time of the day you can collect all the photos and videos they are making for you especially.
Regarding of the meals, they they have their own restaurants. The package we have included breakfast. There are plenty of local restaurant nearby with delicious food and some authentic local cuisine.
My friend and I enjoyed at the Sampa spa. We had madicure and pedicure and as well 90 mins of massage. We both enjoyed it.
Floating bar is something you should experience while you are in Maafushi. There will be a dingy to pick you up everything 5 to 10 minutes from the jetty to the yatch. You can either go a bit earlier for the sunset while drinking or a bit later in the evening. We decided to go late night as there will be a DJ till 0130hrs midnight. DJ plays very good music, strongly recommended this activity.
Overall we enjoyed the stay very much. We will surely come back by any chance. Thank you.

Our hotel stay at Kaani Grand Seaview had a number of issues:
1. Check in process was extremely slow. The staff there asked us to fill out forms with basic details that they could already obtain from our passports that were provided to them for check in process.
2. The wash basin was broken and despite raising this with the reception, it was only fixed on the last day after strongly complaining.
3. The housekeeping did not provide body wash in the bathroom, when we complained at reception they did nothing and told us check after we come back from our day trip if the housekeeping provide this while cleaning the room. When we complained the following day that there was still no body wash - the receptionist instead blamed us for not letting her know sooner that it was still not fixed
4. We requested room service to send us sugar packets atleast 3 times. But no one bothered to send them. - When we complained at the reception, they did not apologise instead behaved in a very aggressive manner with us. Later the housekeeping staff who came to check in on us apologised and told us that the reception never informed them of our request.
5. When inquired about snorkeling trips, they showed no interest in our queries and provided little / no information and quoted 3 times the rates than another reputed tour operator on the island.
6. The breakfast spread each day during our 4 day stay was exactly the same and quite stale. As a vegetarian, our only options were bread, butter, cucumber, oatmeal, oranges and stale roshi with curry which was clearly reused from their previous night's dinner service. They provide same items every day and offered no variation.
7. We travelled as group of 3 couples which Kaani was aware of, however they refused to give rooms to us on the same floor and make no effort to adjust
8. Our tour operator flynote.in told us that we can use the pool atop Kaani's new hotel - Kaani Palm Beach. However, the staff refused to let us use that pool and made no effort to accommodate our request.
9. During check in we had to carry our own bags to our room.
10. They refused to rent us any snorkeling equipment if we wanted to snorkel at the local beach. Other hotels at Maafushi do provide that service.
11. The staff in general was not welcoming or friendly, and pretty rude when we gave them feedback. They took no interest in our experience. Offered no advice on what excursions we can opt for. They took no ownership of their shortcomings and kept blaming us or their housekeeping staff.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location and view from seaview rooms.

If you have a choice don't stay in Kaani. We were staying in Kaani Grand Seaview end of January. After PCR test for Resort my husband been tested positive for covid 19. As we find out the results all of us spent 12 hours in one room before he been transferred to quarantine facility.
There is no safe measures for Tansfer to Quarantine hotel: hotel staff with no gloves and protective clothing using same lift (not stairs) to walk positive guest from hotel, carrying luggages with no gloves. After using lift nobody spray or clean it to stop spreading the virus. In Quarantine facility people which we met were from Kaani hotels tested positive (but all of them saying not having any symptoms)or been in contact with positive case, no locals, no members of staff or guests from other hotels. Staff who delivers food don't use face masks or gloves and giving from hand to hand.
Quarantine facility its so poor and unsafe with slips and trips, wobbly handrails and ect.
Our 18 months old son were sleeping with me in one bed for 2 weeks with no baby cot provided.
All staff working and mixing between 3 Kaani and Quarantine hotels without changing PPI.

The Room, Amenities were too good. Room service was great. In fact better than ever I wished.
Its not that they don’t have a swimming pool, in adjacent building they do have and its fine to use. Its an infinity pool, which is good but you go into heat then remember there is no place to escape from the heat. Its so much Windy.
They provide Sun Bed + Beach Towels whenever we may need. Loved this.
Their Water Sports and Day Trips are so good. Many actually not recommended Kaani, but for us to go whenever we want to go Kaani was the best. All other trips are slightly expensive and not sure if they go or not till late night as they wait for more Pax. I must specially mention Mr Ibrahim - he is such a nice guy , so informative , so helpful and will go an extra mile to take a great photo of you.
Main and only problem I find in Kaani is Food, their breakfast is one of the worst , they have fixed menu which they keep on rotating. Most items are made just tasteless, the Juice , always tastes worst than plain water.
For them cleaning a table after eating is just taking out the used utensils. Nothing much Nothing less. Coffee and Tea they don’t provide in buffet, some one has to come but usually he is very busy. Tried breakfast outside hotel, even cheaper hotels were better.
Tried their Ale Carte menu for few days for lunch and dinner, this is the most expensive worst food. So, if you don’t take their full board menu ( which I heard also not good from friends) then find food outside.
But I suggest to take full-board meal plan in any hotel you stay because food in Maafushi is very expensive. A decent buffet at Arena costs 12usd ( but its worth it and best in its kind ) , ale carte menu also not so cheap.

We had a lovely and very clean room with sea view.
Everyone in the hotel is kind and helpful to the maximum.
Sunbeds free of charge, beach towels changed every day.
Dinner was served at Kaani Palm Beach across the street.
They organize a PCR test for guests for $50.
Booked excursions with the hotel, they were well organized.
Bad things are:
When we arrived to the island, we carried our own suitcases from the boat to the hotel, while all other hotels welcomed guests and came with stretchers. This was a BIG disappointment for me.
The food is VERY VERY bad (we had half board).
Please don't book dinner with the hotel, for your own sake.
I would advise to change the chefs or the menu for breakfast and dinner, otherwise they will be left without guests if they continue like this.
I would also like to point that they need to put salt and pepper at each table, and a coffee machine and juice machine at breakfast buffet.
What you get to eat for breakfast and dinner:
For breakfast only 1 type of cheese, boiled egg, 1 type of jam, butter, choice of fruits only oranges.
For dinner only 5-6 dishes, and pudding + watermelon. Since dinner is served for two hotels in Kaani Palm Beach, they have a very poor food choice.
Don’t book dinner at all.
Tea/coffee and water are provided free of charge with dinner.

The best stay at an affordable price u can have at kaani grand sea view.
The view from the room is divine and the location of the hotel is also very very close to the beach. The restaurant serves a buffet with wide variety of food and also multi-cuisine. We were taken special care off as we demanded Indian food and it was also fulfilled by the restaurant manager.
Highly recommend comfortable stay and awesome location of the hotel.

The hotel itself isn't that bad. It's the service which is abismal at best. The staff are extremely rude and massively unhelpful. It started with check in. First they told us our room would be ready at 1pm we arrived at 1.15 they then told us it was delayed until 2pm. That's ok it happens. Next I paid for the room and they overcharged us by 140$. I complained about this to the supervisor and he actually just laughed in my face thinking it was funny and said there was nothing he could do. They couldn't or didn't want to understand the issue. I had to speak with the manager to work out the issue and physically use his calculator to show the mistake... The manager then offered me 40$ cash to call it even regardless of the fact they owed me 140$. Lol. I would advise not to give your phone number to them as they send you repeatedly unsolicited WhatsApp messages trying to book you on tours which are far more expensive than the ones outside. The hotel renovation is underway and they are using a jack hammer which sounds like it could penetrate your very soul. The food is nothing short of awful. We paid for breakfast and dinner we ate both once and once only. There are loads of nicer places literally next door so no need to eat this garbage they provide. Like I said the hotel itself isn't that bad. The location is great, the facility isn't too bad it's just the poor customer service and attitude from the staff.

Hi just stayed 4 nights at the Kaani Grand Seaview Hotel and it was lovely.
We had a balcony room on the 5th floor with beautiful views over looking bikini beach and the crystal clear water.
The room had a great bed , nice bathroom with a great shower. It was spotless clean. The TV offer a good choice of international news and sports. The internet was very good.
The best part of the room was the balcony with great views.
Breakfast was good with fresh eggs, mixture of local dishes and pastries.
We did the turtle snokeraling tour booked by the hotel and it was amazing. Great day out.
The main asset of this hotel are the staff always happy and eager to help you. The gentleman at reception called Inmon is a great front man, always happy .I have been in hospitality for over 35 years and in my eyes he would be a great asset to any hotel etc.
We loved our stay and will be back.
Thanking you Scott and Hilary.
