We stayed at Maafushi for 3 nights in Kaani Palm Beach. Kaani has four properties out of which Kaani Palm Beach is the newest one. We had a comfortable stay and affordable too. Our room was beach facing with a balcony. The view was great. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff is very cooperative and friendly. They help with choosing activities to plan your stay. All shops and excursion points are at feasible distances through walk. The port is near as well. They have airport transfers from the counter number 20 at the airport. You need to inform the reservation team in prior of your arrival through mail/call. There is a gentleman named Mr. Arun who helps with it. It is about a 40 min speedboat ride away from Male.
It is fairly new so they don't have an in-house restaurant but share it with Kaani Grand Seaview. There is no intercom or room service. They provide with free beach towels and water bottles supply everyday and have tea/coffee makers with essentials in every room.
The location is its biggest advantage. It is right on the bikini beach. You can avail spa services at the Kaani Grand Seaview right next to Kaani Palm Beach.
It was my parent's 25th anniversary and they arranged for a private beach candle light dinner at $140 dollars for three persons. It was very worth it.
They are very punctual with the boat services. If missed a boat service, there are private boats that can be arranged but are very expensive. The breakfast is from 6.30 to 9.30. Keeping in mind that most of the morning boats are quite early for excursions or departures.

I love this hotel very much, even though it is already under construction. We got a sea-view room on 9th floor, with amazing view to the Indian ocean and the sunset. Staff is very kind and helpful, especially Mohamed. They got to know that we had our wedding anniversary and on that day, we got beautiful decoration on our bed. It was so touching. Bed is very comfortable and air condition works fine. Room is cleaned daily, towels and beach towels are provided and changed every second day in average. Shower gel and shampoo are also provided. Infiniti pool is on the 10th floor with amazing view. Even constructions are still happening around, pool area is nice clean. We had breakfast only, which was okay, however, I missed some fresh vegetables like tomato or cucumber, as well as some ham (of course not pork, but maybe chicken or turkey). The hotel is right next to Bikini beach and for early bird guests sunbeds are provided free of charge. Beach area is cleaned each morning. We love this hotel so much that we are going to come back each year! :)

Excellent location, great view. We stayed in 2701 and 2801 for 3 nights. Though our ask was for adjacent rooms but probably they have such quadruple occupancy sea view with balcony rooms one in every floor. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Staffs were supportive. Check-in / Check-out and Airport transfers arrangements were fine.

However, few observations:
1. In quadruple room, they just gave 3 small complimentary water bottles daily which is 500ml each. Not sufficient at all.
2. Towels were very old and discolour. Very unhygienic.
3. Lift area is extremely hot and suffocating.
4. Excursions were taken from hotel's own tour plans but they didn't disclose about the walk way thru water to reach sandbank and also didn't provide any life jacket during night fishing.
5. We had selected Kaani Palm and paid higher than Kaani's other property to avail Swimming pool facility but could avail only once out of our 3 nights stay. Was under maintenance rest of the time. Very disappointing.
6. Complimentary Buffet Breakfast had limited items but they were okay. Buffet Dinner didn't have much variety and most dishes were too dry in nature.
7. Dinning area is very hot during breakfast as there is no AC and also they keep all doors closed.
8. Too many flies, should use some insect repellents.

I was not disappointed with the Deluxe Sea View room! The view was stunning & the sunsets spectacular! It’s a relatively new hotel so all the fixtures & fittings are nice, the bed is super comfy & the cleaning staff kept the room spotless!
The hotel seems to have a very slick process for the arranging & undertaking of pre-departure COVID-19 tests, which was encouraging!
The rooftop pool was a nice feature and a great for a cool off early evening to watch the sunset!
I was however disappointed with a few things;
1. The lack of enforcement of face mask wearing around the hotel! Although there were signs everywhere saying it was mandatory, very few guests were wearing them.
2. A Limited breakfast with dishes not always being replenished! The baguette bread was always stale & as the some of the food wasn’t covered properly, there were a lot of flies!
3. Dinner was a poor dining experience for me with more flies, no greeting from anyone and the food looked generally unappetising.
4. The Kaani boat trips were too crowded for safe distancing and there was little consideration for safety! There was no safety briefings and no guidance for the correct wearing of life vests. Let them know beforehand if you’re vegetarian as there’s no option once you’re on board!
Overall, a nice stay, but would recommend the room only option and eat elsewhere! There are lots of restaurants close by. I would highly recommend the Arena Beach Hotel restaurant next door for their 4 course buffet style dinner for $12++. This hotel also has a quieter beach with sun beds and umbrellas, which seemed to be free of charge if you bought drinks/lunch at the beach bar, also recommended! Mr Octopus and the Harbour Cafe are also worth a visit!

Unfortunately we did not feel a friendly atmosphere, neither at the reception nor the restaurant. Maybe it was due to Ramadan time, but we were disappointed by that. I would make the difference of the tour guys in the excursions, where indeed they displayed a different attitude. The room facing the beautiful sea view are big, very cleaned, powerful air conditioned and good wifi connection. My suggestion is to ask for block 1 to directly face the sunset. The infinite pool is small but rewarding to enjoy the sunset. A must-do thing. However the disco music in the evening lasts until 23:45 so it cannot be considered as a quiet and relaxing place. During our time the bikini beach water was not transparent and the reef poor for snorkelling. The breakfast was very poor, almost no fresh products at all. It can be reached from the jetty easily on foot. Check-in must be improved. It can be desperately slow if many guests arrive at the same time after a usually long trip. I happened to talk to Sadir who was very patient and eager to assist us during our stay.

Just finished our stay there. Had an extremely difficult time getting in touch with the property. Email and phone numbers on reservation confirmation were not working. Finally contacted them through their FB site. We had specific questions about the state of construction at the hotel and expressed our strong desire to have a quiet and relaxing holiday. We were told that the hotel was in the "finishing stages" and that there could be some construction noise but that it would: (a. not occur at night (b. it would be minimal and we should not be able to hear it in our room....The construction is not complete! The restaurant area is still being worked on, the pool is open with a gorgeous view but the whole area around it, including the walkway from the second area to the pool, is still a construction site mess. VERY unsafe. Workers are pounding and working in rooms on almost every floor. The noise could be heard until 9 or 10 pm some nights, even though when we complained they said it should stop at 8, but did not. There is another hotel being constructed just adjacent to the Kaani Palm, literally connect to the hotel and the noise from this was absolutely awful! This is out of their control but they could have mentioned it when I spoke with them before coming about my concerns regarding construction noise. The view out the balcony is beautiful but don't look down or to the side! It is an ugly construction mess. There is also a restaurant that is part of the hotel next door that plays very loud music until 10 and sometimes 11 pm. Not enjoyable with little ones trying to sleep. Overall, Maafushi is a great budget island but I would recommend choosing a different hotel. They were not responsive, their website is not working, none of the phone numbers are working and when I did get ahold of someone, they were not honest about the state of the hotel. I specifically asked for someone to call me on Whatsapp and was ignored. Had to phone several times to get in touch with a live person and when I finally did, they were not honest. Very disappointing. Upon arrival, we were placed on the second floor and it was horrible with noise. They later moved us to a higher floor and it was a bit better but still a very disruptive experience. Not what you go to the Maldives to experience. If they had been truthful with us, we could have stayed elsewhere and had a relaxing holiday.

It's a pretty decent hotel. We faced some issues with the room as there was construction work of other hotel going on right next to the room having common wall.

Ultimately , we requested to change room but unfortunately none of the other sea facing room were available for the 1st day.

We got sea facing room for the next day and the day after and the experience was awesome after that .

They have an option of a romantic couple date setup on beach (with extra charges) which we opted for.

We were served By Rajashekhar who took care of all the things from drinks to appetizer s to the main course.

Really loved his hospitality.

Overall , it's a really good hotel with Minor issues related to construction sites which would be temporary.

I was fortunate to spend ten days at the incredible Kaani Palm Beach. From the staff, to the food, to the hotel it is a five star experience. The endless options of excursions allowed me to achieve so many things from my bucket list. It must be noted that the staff are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to ensure you are happy and comfortable. On the excursions, the staff ensure vast footage is taken so that you can showcase your memories on your return home. Kaani Palm beach is the closest place to heaven on earth and I strongly suggest the resort and location as the ideal place for all who wish to have an incredible holiday.
Having travelled solo, the staff became like family.
Based on a local island, there are several restaurants as well as shops and supermarkets to explore.
Thank you Kaani Beach for providing me with the trip of a lifetime.

Where to begin…
So we tried to call the hotel before arriving to check everything with our reservation was in order, but when being asked this question, all we received was laughter down the phone.
The rooms are fairly clean, but there was a sickly smell coming from outside our door.
Our room was attached to another room via a locked door with no soundproofing so you can hear EVERYTHING going on next door (infer from that what you will)… oh and you’re rationed to 1 free bottle of water per guest per day.
The WiFi isn’t amazing, and requires codes, you’re limited to 4 devices and it always signs out.
There is one elevator next to reception for guests to use, which meant it took a while to get to and from our room.
The “highest infinity pool in the Maldives” maybe true, but looked murky/ green in colour, and the area is still under construction, not to mention there being 4 sun beds for the entire hotel to use. There is no elevator to the pool, you have to go to the 9th floor and then walk up two flights of stairs.
The staff in the restaurant were pretty useless and didn’t care about the guests, same with some on reception.
When checking out, we asked the staff member a question about our bill, and instead of politely explaining to us the breakdown, he was quite rude. Staff kept telling us to come back later when we tried to settle our bill and in general the reception area was chaotic at all times.
The food at breakfast was awful, unhealthy and tastes stale. So we chose to eat out everyday even though we had breakfast included! Thoroughly recommend Moonlight restaurant !
We thought the tours to be reasonably priced and value for money, Kadir was the best member of staff and was always attentive.
