Detailed Reviews
Good responsive communication via my booking.com confirmation.
Located at the quiet end of the island. New building with other nearby constructions occuring but I was not adversely affected by any noise.
My room was average size and clean throughout. The aircon, fridge and tv all worked fine. Lighting was good. Shelving areas and hanging space. The balcony was narrow with a clothes drying rack.
My bed had clean linens and afforded me a comfortable sleep. Power points on either side of the bed.
The bathroom had a seperate shower area. The hot water was okay but I had average water pressure.
Breakfast wasn't anything special but the egg omelet, toast & jam, fruit and juice was enough for me.
My only frustration was after advising reception at check in that I am not a messy person who needs their room cleaned daily. I said I would make a request if I wanted my room cleaned. The very next day I returned in the afternoon & my room had been cleaned. This happened again the following day. My third day I made comment to a breakfast employee. This didn't work as I returned to find my room had been cleaned. Later this day I was able to confer with the receotion manager. Still no success. The following morning a knock on my door asking if I wanted my room cleaned. Maybe the provision of 'Please clean my room/Do not disturb' signs might be a practical investment.
Lastly, I was met at the harbour when I arrived & my suitcase was transported to the hotel and transported back to the harbour after I checked out.
Overall, I had a very comfortable and quiet stay here.

+1
Location hardly matters in Maaffushi as the whole island is a 10 min walk.
Booked the hotel for two nights stay. The host Ahmed was extremely responsive on chat n email and kept us updated. Also helped in booking for water sports and speed boat ride from Male airport. The hotel staff greeted us as soon as we got of the boat and took us for a very smooth checkin with some fresh juice.
The hotel is around 5 min walk from the bikini beach and the Resturant area, is extremely clean and peaceful.
Its a newly build hotel so every thing was brand new. No hush n bush so ideal. Breakfast was nice and room service did a fantastic job.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a not so fancy but extremely clean, safe and peaceful hotel with all basic utilities in a hotel.

I strongly advise to NOT booking with this hotel. During my visit to Maafushi, I was exploring various hotel options before making a decision. I happened to inquire at Lagoona Sunset, and my experience was far from pleasant. The person at the front desk provided false information, claiming that all rooms were fully booked and that I couldn't view them. I found it suspicious because I could see available rooms for that night online, so I asked why I couldn't see a room. Instead of a reasonable explanation, he became defensive and abruptly told me to 'get out.'
When I inquired about speaking to the manager, he claimed to be both the manager and the owner of the hotel, which I found hard to believe based on his unprofessional conduct. This encounter left me with a terrible impression and an unwelcome feeling. In contrast, other hotels I visited were incredibly friendly, readily showing me their available rooms. Sadly, my experience at Lagoona Sunset was marred by dishonesty and rudeness from the staff.
Additionally, there was ongoing construction nearby, causing a great deal of noise. Not only did I encounter a discourteous staff, but I also had to contend with a noisy environment. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations to ensure a more pleasant stay, as the staff's attitude can significantly impact your experience.

Very kind and helpful hosts. The room vas neat and clean, cleaned every day, with new towels every day. Complementary beach towels.
Water pressure in showers was great, and had a lot of hot water. Great AC.
Would recommend.

Stay away from this hotel. The staff was unhelpful and dishonest. When I inquired about rooms, they claimed they were fully booked even though I could see availability online. The person at the front desk was rude and said GET OUT. Avoid this place for a more pleasant stay elsewhere.

Excellent location great staff, excellent hospitality, clean rooms. You can expect a good night rest after a hectic day activity.
It is a new hotel which is still under construction but it will not distract from what you want and wish for. Had a great time.
