Detailed Reviews
We went to eat there the first night, sent by a guy selling coconuts on the main road. The food was great and our waiter very friendly. Being our fist night, we started asking him for advice about what to do on the island. He went way beyond what you’d normally expect offering a lot of details and advice. So we found out they are also organizing all sorts of trips. All the hotels have deals with or have their own activities centers and they take groups of 20-30 people to different places. But when we wanted something private, these guys were very helpful and organized it for us. There were only 4 of us but the prices were only slightly higher comparing to a normal group trip! We basically ended up booking 5 trips with them in the 6 days spent on the island. And eat there 5 out of 6 evenings. I think that is saying everything about the quality of both the food but specially the people over there!
So Hussain, Omar, Zidni, a big thank you to all of you, you made our vacation great! Hope to see you again soon!

I have stayed in Stingray Beach Inn for 11 days of my vacation in the Maldives, island of Maafushi. It is a cute little hotel with a beautiful garden in the shades of tall palm trees. The food is just delicious, they offer asian cuisine, but the pizza is also great. Have to say they are vegeterian/vegan friendly. I recommend fruit juices made from fresh fruit, but also specialties on a hot iron plate (sizzling). Even if you are not staying in the hotel, you should definitely eat here at least once!. The service is a bit slow, but it is worth waiting. The rooms are modest, but clean and very cute, with air conditioning and fans. The staff is excellent and professional, lead by the kind manager Mr Ibrahim. If you want a relaxed and authentic experience of the Maldives, out of the resorts and fancy hotels that you may find anywhere, this is the place for you. If I come to Maafushi next time, I do not have to think where I will be staying. Stingray, definitely!

Pros: Luxurious Rooms, Great Facilities, Excellent location in Maafushi, Ibrahim the manager, The Food, Great Service.
The best place in maafushi island and probably in the entire Maldives. The hotel is brand new with luxury rooms fully equipped, very clean and well designed. It within less than a minute walk to maafushi's north and only beach. the staff is friendly and always willing to go the extra mile for you. Specially the owner/manager ibrahim who was the nicest man we met. The restaurant is also amazing, the included breakfast is rich and tasty and the food is in high standard and delicious. we defiantly will recommend to all of our friends and will come back in the future.
Don't miss the southern reef's snorkeling site. The hotel speed boat can bring you to there. You'll find rich corals and many kinds of fish.

I booked Hotel in Goibibo Booking ID:HTLQ98W4FY Booked on: 19/12/19 Stingray Beach Inn( Deluxe Double or Twin Room with Breakfast and Dinner) MaldivesCheck-in:03 Feb'20Check-out:07 Feb'20 - After booking the hotel 1.5 Months in advance, I was denied check in because hotel received a walk in customers which were from Europe and we were told to go to different property which is not even a 3rd class property, there is no space to walk to people together around, that's how congested it was, but were given acess to all 3 resturent including stringray, food quality is good, but book at your own risk as the hotel owner Mr. Ibrahim told me that they don't have online sytem to track the booking and is often casued oveerbooked. but they will only move the indian couples and not the other nationalities, there were other 2 indian couples who faced similar issues.. plus beware of the photos, hotel has no swiming pool they have 3 different hotel and they show good stuff of each hotel in on hotel, like this hotel has no swimming pool

I went there to stay for one night with my family and the service was terrible.
First thing that they did not explain how it works for transportation during the Reseravation stage. I was clearly told them when I get the speed boat timing only I will be confirming my booking. They said speed boat will be leaving from male at 10:45, than I confirmed my booking and I did the online payment for them. Next day morning they called me around 10:15, was saying that timing got change at 11:45. And I told them that I wanted to go there early, because we wanted to spend more time in the island. They said I was in combine speed boat, so I have to wait for 11:45. However I ask them to booked me another speed boat for me to go for maafushi, and they said they will not give the money back and if I want come with another transfer I have to book by myself and they provide another speed boat contact number. I tried to book that one, but it was full, so I have no choice and have to wait for this boat. That boat left from male Jetty no 6 at 12:00 noon time.
When we want hotel it was 13:00, and we have to wait for 25 minutes until our room to be ready.
We don’t spend much time in hotel.we spend full day at the water sports and we went to the hotel to sleep.
Next day morning we went to the restaurant to have a breakfast at 8:45.
It was a buffet breakfast. And most of the things are out of stock. Lots of guest was waiting for the food, they couldn’t refill it on well.
One station there was cornflakes, but there is no milk. I told one of the waiter there is no milk, and he said me that I have to request for the milk, than only they provide the milk. I gave him a feed back that to keep the milk next to the cornflakes. He said that hotel management doesn’t want to do that and that’s their way.
Very unorganized and even they don’t have a fresh juice there. Only one type of packet juice and staffs are not very helpful and they don’t know even what they are doing.
I will never recommend this place to any of my friend and I will not suggest any one to go there. They just squeezing people’s money and they don’t provide a better service. They should learn the hospitality service. Most terrible service ever I have seen.

The hotel is a small place with a nice terrace for breakfast, full of palms and trees (also mosquito at night) however you have to spend more than 1 hour for they to serve you the breakfast. We tolk with the manager to tell that we want breakfast early in the morning because we have to make the excursions early and the don't care, the breakfast start at 7.00, but at 7.00 there were nobody in the kitchen so we lost our breakfast and we went to the excursion without breakfast, so sad.
The wifi it doesn't work properly.
The bed is huge but too hard the mattress, the bathroom needs reform.

The staff where friendly however I had alot of diffictuly with my room the first night was fine food was good room was nice and clean everything worked. The second morning when I woke up I told the front desk that my aircon was not working, nore was my fan, I said I need this fixed as their was no circulation. I went out on a snorkle trip and came back to my room my snorkle trip was 5 hours and it still wasn't fixed I asked front desk I said to them I cannot take a shower I'm my room it's to hot without circulation in it. I ordered some lunch at the hotel then read my book in the hammock it came to 6pm and it still wasn't fixed. I asked at this time being a solo female traveller if I could simply change rooms to one that had a aircon or fan working in it. And my neighbour where awfully loud kept me awake until midnight... u can here straight through the walls they are not sound proof at all. I needed a quiet room I was very upset and emotional at this point as I felt the staff didn't care I was unable to go to relax in my room I expressed to the staff that I travelled half way around the world to stay at this hotel and its completly unacceptable. It eventually got fixed by 8pm that night even tho I made the complaint at 7am when I left for my snorkle trip. It was un believable it took this long to get it fixed. I was absloutly disgusted that as a solo female i basically had to start crying for someone to take me seriously and fix my room. It was completely un acceptable. The staff just didnt seem to care. I would not recommend this place their is definaly more affordable places to stay in the maldives or on maafushi Island just make sure u look around food and location where the only good thing going for this place! Absloutly terrible.

We had two of their vegeterian options for dinner- Penne pasta and Mushroom curry. The food was good but it was highly overpriced and portions were extremely small. The hospitality of the property owners was pathetic- they refused to take a 20$ bill that i had with me at the time citing that it had a small cut just because it was in my pocket and sweat might have played a part. Their adamancy and inflexibility is something they seem to be very proud of. Needless to say I wont be visiting this place again nor recomending this place to anyone.

I would like to recommend Stingray Beach Inn on Maafushi island to everyone who looks high quality accommodation and service for reasonable price. Our choice couldn't have been better - we were satisfied with every single thing about Stingray. The rooms are nice and cosy, equipped in everything you need for holiday stay (very comfortable beds of enourmous size, clean bathroom with big shower, wardrobe, coat-hanger, dressing table with mirror, hairdryer, kettle and glasses). Rooms are cleaned every day so they are always tidy. Stingray courtyard is also very pleasant - there are some hammocks where you can relax, open jacuzzi and some tables, all surrounded by palm trees and other exotic plants. Stingray guests can use full snorkeling equipment free of charge and every day are provided with clean beach towels. Stingray has its own restaurant too - we tried some other places on an island where you can eat dinner and I must admit that food in Stingray turned out to be the best one - the helpings are big and very very tasty, the menu is rich and diverse, the prices are reasonable for the quality you get. The location of the guesthouse is also very good, it is located in a nice part of the island - very close to the tourist beach, far away from mosque and prison. But what is the most admirable is Stingray team. All people are very careful and helpful. Ibrahim, Moussa and rest of the team do their best to make your holiday become exceptional and unforgettable. I am sure that our stay wouldn't have been so great without them! They offer you a lot of trips, many of them worth joining:
Fihalhohi Resort - nice island with great surrounding, there is a beach full of palm trees and a nice reef for snorkeling;
Rihiveli Resort - really beautiful trip combined with watching hundreds of dolphing while getting there, the views are amazing, the resort is compound of three islands from which two are uninhabited, so you can feel like you are on a picnic island, you can get there in canoo and choose an option with BBQ lunch, which is very tasty, there is also shark and manta point, the reef isn't nice, but instead of snorkeling you can expose to the sun on the sandbanks;
Embudu Resort - the resort is nothing special, but the bright point is its reef that streches around the island, go there if you want to do a lot of snorkeling - it's the best place to do it, if you're not interesting in it, choose something else;
Anantara Resort - the best point of our stay - that resort is really amazing and its beauty can't be easily described - you have to see it with your own eyes! it's all perfect - admission is quite expensive but worth every penny, and during your stay you can use all money paid at the entrance, food and drinks are delicious, the swimming pool just next to the ocean is superb, as well as a hammock in the middle of the ocean, I highly recommend visiting this resort - it's very relaxing;
Kandooma Resort - a bit disappointing after visiting Anantara, but quite nice, more european style than maledivian, it has very nice and big swimming pool;
Snorkeling trip - very nice trip during which Moussa took us to some beautiful snorkeling points, we've seen stingrays, sharks and many beautiful fishes, snorkeling on banana reef was great!
Night fishing - nice trip during which you hunt for your dinner ;) a lot of fun, especially if you have really big fish on a hook ;)
IBRAHIM, MOUSSA AND OTHERS - THANK YOU GUYS FOR EVERYTHING, IT WAS A REAL PLEASURE TO STAY IN STINGRAY AND MEET YOU, MALDIVES ARE BEAUTIFUL, AND OUR STAY WAS EXCEPTIONAL ALSO BECAUSE OF YOU!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!! MAYBE SOME DAY WE CAN COME TO VISIT YOU AGAIN!! :)

This guest house looks like a small exotic relaxing paradise.
When we arrived to the island the owner Mr Ibrahim awaited us at the local port and escorted us to the guest house. The luggage was delivered to our room. While we were refreshing ourself with complimentary fresh watermelon juice we made check in and finished our payment smoothly.
Our room was suitable for 4* star hotel, not really big, maybe some extra shells would be appreciated, but our bed was better then in all 5* star hotels we ever stayed. It was a king size bed, very comfortable and sheets were changed each day. We had hot water kettle, a complimentary fresh water bottle each day, refrigerator, TV, good air con, hair-dryer and safe box.
Bathroom was always clean, hot water always running, it just needs an extra towel hanger.
The room was cleaned on daily bases, towels were changed every day. And we also got clean beach towels every day.
Guest house offers a good restaurant with sea food - good and fast service. The waiter Rahman was our favourite, always positive and he remembered what we like.
What makes this guest house pleasant to stay is the extra service they offer. Stingray is just 2 minutes away from bikini beach (which came very in handy in the times when it starts raining). They offer and deliver sun beds to bikini beach free of charge-just ask anyone before you hit the beach. Extra excursions are offered in all hotels and guest houses in Maafushi island, but we learned that Stingray has the best prices (maybe because they also own fast boats used for trips). We went to half day trip which includes 2 stops for snorkelling, dolphin watching and sandbank (our best thing in the trip) and complimentary snack + drink on the sandbank (really great experience). At Stingray they give you snorkelling mask and fins complimentary. They even transfered photos from this trip to our flash usb. Also complimentary. We also went to 2 day trips to resorts. Both resorts are on a small island. First was to Adaaran where you are enjoying all inclusive food and drinks (including alcohol) and second one, which was our favourite was to RihiVeli where you only get a buffet lunch, but you are enjoying in the island where there is only 50 guests top and you literally have a feeling that you are on a private island, because it is peaceful, clean and relaxing. The best thing on RihiVeli are 2 small neighbour island which are part of this resort and you can reach them on foot or taking a kanoo. We rented kanoo and enjoyed total privacy on this small island and sand bank on the other side. On Rihiveli you pay for drinks but they give you a shared room where you can take a shower or change clothes in private.
When we went back home Ibrahim offered us to buy tickets for fast boat for 20 usd only and like that we didn't need to go by local ferry at 7:30 in the morning, but we went at 1 pm on the same day and had all the morning left for swimming and enjoying sunny Maldives. We recommend to all future visitors not to take local ferry (it takes 2 hours apr) but take Venturo fast boat instead (it takes 30 min) and you can get it from 20 usd on - the price depends from number of pax on the boat. We took Venturo also on the day of arrival. Maybe just a note: you can take Venturo fast boat at the airport and don't need to go to Male. But if you go to Male anyway (to see Maldives capital) Venturo stops there as well.
In the end we would like to thank Ibrahim and all his staff at Stingray guest house for making our expectations about Maldives come true. It is trully a paradise on the earth!

There are no seaside rooms in this hotel.
there is a local ferry, you can check the timeline on the Internet or you can arrange with a hotel a speedboat transfer around 40$ - 50$ per person
Hi,
I just came back from the trip there, so its still fresh in my mind.
When u come in from COL, you land on their international airport island called Hulhumale. At Hulhumale, this is only your stepping stone. You would really want to go out to those atolls like Maafushi to play and stay.
Hence, when you land in Hulhulame, you could take a public bus for USD1.50 to nearby coastal strips to lay over. There are varius guesthouses along that strip, like Crown Reef, Fuana, etc.
Sleep for a nite if your flight is quite late. Then next day, use the hotel's tel and call your Maafushi hotel. Ask them to pick u up and make all the arnagements from there.
Alternatively, if your flight from COL to Maldives is an early one, just get the Maafushi people to wait for you at the airport and bring you straight to the island of Maafushi and your fun begins IMMEDIATELY!
