We were very happy with everything, from the receptionist to the cottage and location. we loved the bush setting, quiet, birds and the way the cottages were placed so you had your privacy. The cottage catered for everything we needed and the continental breakfast was sufficient. We would certainly return.

It's great to hear our guests stating that they will return as this confirms we're on the right track. In fact, we know of young couples who have visited, then returned a few years later with children; and some who have returned with their grandchildren. And many have returned more than 20 times through the years. The cottages have gone...

We stayed here recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were assigned cottage 8 which was the last cottage so there was no traffic passing by as we enjoyed the cottage. The cottage consisted of an open kitchen dinning and lounge area with one bedroom at each end, the one bedroom was locked so we couldn't use it, not that...

You're right of course Peter. No bar, no swimming pool, no dancing girls...just peace & tranquillity! As regards the bedrooms, we used to leave both open, but found that some people would book for 2 persons and have 3-4 turn up. This way, I can keep the costs for 2 persons down as they don't have to pay for servicing...

Located half way between Margaret River town and the beach,in a quiet rural setting. Well appointed and clean. enjoyed the walking trails through the grounds, great for spotting wildlife and some wildflowers. The coloured tags on trees as identifying what they were was also a good idea. Enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine. Wifi is a little slow, but it...

Many thanks Michael. We pride ourselves on providing clean and comfortable accommodation, within a bush setting. And, with summer coming along (finally), we'll see more guests relaxing outdoors and enjoying the bush experience. Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

We chose to stay at Bushland Cottages for three nights as the cottages are within minutes from Margaret Rivers town. We found our cottage very well maintained and equipped with all the necessities. The staff was very helpful in accommodating to our needs. Email correspondent was prompt and helpful. We enjoyed our short trip down South at Bushland Cottages.

Good to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We're rather unique in that our accommodation is within a wildlife sanctuary, this being a gazetted "Land for Wildlife" property.

I'm pleased to hear your children enjoyed their contact with nature. The "iguana" was actually a skink, which are harmless lizards. They're a clear sign, also, that the habitat is healthy. They like sunbaking on our iron rooves, particularly in the mornings. Thank you for taking the time to review our "Land for Wildlife" property.

Second stay at Bussells Bushland cottages (previous was 4 years ago) and I am glad to say it's as good or better than the last time we visited. The cabins are well sized and spec'ed for what we used this for (part eating out, part self catering). Nothing negative to say about this place, you have wildlife on your doorstep...

Thanks Mike. We do like to make some small changes as we move along. The next BIG change will be the installation of split air-conditioners to the living rooms. It will take a few weeks to complete this project, but I'm hopeful they'll be ready by February (if not sooner). Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

We really enjoyed our three nights at the cottages - which are spread out to provide a true sense of privacy. The accommodation was excellent, comfortable, spacious and well equipped, but the main attraction were the kangaroos that wandered around the bush and around the cottage if you were an early riser or walked on the bush trails before dusk....

Guests who don't avail themselves of a stroll around our bush block are really doing themselves a disservice. An early morning stroll will introduce you to the birdlife and numerous kangaroos; and, within a few minutes, you'll feel as if you're in deep forest. Don't be concerned, however as the bush block is just 500 X 400 metres so you're...

We just stayed here for the third time and will be back again for sure ! The cottages are well kept and fitted out with everything you need. The property is kept clean and tidy with nice bush trails to walk along and look at the local wildlife.

We spent a lovely short break at these cottages. You'll see kangaroos everywhere, and we also saw skinks, possums and many different birds. The walk around the perimeter fence is especially lovely in the evening as the sun is going down. The cottage was well equipped overall, although a few additional items in the kitchen would have been good (notably...

Thank you for your kind comments. It's only right that guests should consider the small items which might be attended to improve the product, however you might like to know that we've been focusing on the big ticket items. Since 2008, we've completely gutted and refitted all 8 cottages, sealed the 600 metre driveway and, in August of this year,...

Simple yet luxurious cottages set in natural bushland. Short walking trails around the property allow a nice walk before or after a day of tasting gourmet treats from the region. Child friendly, private, and you can watch the kangaroos and other wildlife outside your front door. Location is close to town. There is a wealth of information provided in cottages...

Thanks Lucy. I'm of the opinion that a stay of less than 3 nights is not enough for the region, or for a stay on our bush block. It takes a day to wind down and relax into the surroundings, then to take the time to stroll along our walk trails. After kicking gum nuts for a few hundred metres,...
