Hotel needs a refurbishment, understatement. Older lady check me in who seemed flustered to say the least. Dint tell me about the free wifi, meal times etc. Intervened by Sid, who was quite good really. Even made a recommendation for a main meal and insisted that we came down for happy hour

Hotel Coachman is definitely one of the most prestigious hotels in Palmerston North. It has this air of style and class around it. As a boutique hotel, it has managed to keep clients that are not into faceless business hotels for just to sleep in between the meetings. I stayed there with my son to enjoy the Easter without any...

Service at reception and in the restaurant was friendly and helpful. The room was clean (even the shower, which is often a nasty surprise!). Dinner and breakfast were good. While not particularly modern it had everything I needed for 1 night for a conference.

It starts with the undercover carpark and the wooden paneled entrance. Welcomed by two pleasant staff, I was given a room key, wifi password, and a quick orientation of where the key things were. The room was well furnished, with a double (Queen?) bed, bed-setee, armchair, writing desk and drawers, bar fridge, iron & ironing board, TV, Heater, full length...

I paid $173 NZ for a room that faced the carpark and busy road with no aircon necessitating opening the tiny windows. There was some sought of fan/heater barely keeping the air circulated. If you want aircon than you need to pay for a deluxe room. Fittings etc were OK, and the duty manager friendly and helpful. Nothing much doing...

Stained carpets, run down in the rooms and boring old furniture. The whole place feels more like an american motel rather then a hotel. The staff started dragging chairs outside the restaurant that one of our windows were pointing to and it woke us up at 6 am. We arrived around 10.30 pm and the bar had just closed. Next...

Liked the style of the hotel, it had a warm homely atmosphere which a lot of hotels have lost in modernisation. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was clean and beds comfortable. The bathroom was less so, hair and hair grips on the floor and what appeared to be body fluids on the walls by the sink. As...

We received a friendly welcome and were checked in even though we arrived early. Our room was spotless. Staff happily got us a microwave and wanted to know if everything else was OK. They genuinely wanted us to be happy. Whilst decor might be described as a bit older fashioned, it was homely. We were very happy with our stay...

Room 208, Not the place to stay if you want to sleep well afer a long journey. They book some areas for functions which are seriously noisy until the early hours of the morning. take the noise away (good luck with that) and then you are left with double beds that are tired and roll to the middle (my partner...

Actually here back in April 2012 but Tripadvisor won't let me go that far back! Had a big double room all to myself with all the facilities you would need including a galley kitchen which I hardly used. The breakfast was lovely and the one evening meal I had was delicious. Staff Very Helpful. Would have got a 5 if...
