We only spent 2 nights at this hotel.
Its a tired hotel BUT it is not bad hotel.
The staffs are friendly and welcoming. Do keep in mind that Wanganui is a small town so the environment is very relaxed and laid back.
Positives - friendly staff, clean rooms.
Negatives - hard beds, not modern or comfortable rooms and facilities, seemed very empty.
I stayed overnight on two separate trips in a month. Not horrible but just not the best either.
My partner and I had a two night stay here and found the staff and environment pleasant and friendly. The room was comfortable and cosy.

We booked this prior to leaving on our trip and can honestly say we were not disappointed at all. Very welcoming, presented well.
Spacious rooms with spotless facilities. Close proximity to walking into town, has major supermarket close by.

Stayed one night and that was enough. The carpets are stained and the whole place smells mouldy and old. Right out of the 70's. None of my requests at time of booking where accommodated. Staff where just OK but could not advise on eating places...More
