Andy arranged both diving at Poor Knights Island for my son and snorkelling for the rest of us well in advance of our stay. The barn was beautifully designed and the food delicious. We were only here for two nights so did make use of the pool but it looked very inviting. Whangerei falls were a short drive away and...

This lovely old homestead has been modernised to provide the traveller with comfortable rooms and a pool to relax in after a long drive. Andy and Karen are excellent hosts, the salmon and the chicken curry were both very flavoursome dinner dishes and breakfast was varied and tasty. Andy has many helpful tips for touring around the area, we will...

Our stay at Lupton Lodge was very pleasant. The room was clean, had a great bathroom. The location outside of Whangarei was convenient to the city, but had a clear country feel to it. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were excellently prepared and delicious.

Had a great stay with Karen and Andy. The room was lovely and fully equipped. The highlight for us both was the great meal Andy cooked for us and could not recommend this enough. Would definitely stay here again - a great pit stop between the North and Auckland. Thanks Karen and Andy.

So, a Brit and a kiwi decide to restore an old lodge house so they can live the good life and send their kids to a local school where they raise sheep. Take advantage of their madness and stay in what feels like the colonial life in a beautiful home with real brass finishings, fantastic garden walks, contented cows, and...

My first visit was more than 3 years ago. It remains *the* place to stay when in Northland. Andy and Karen are great hosts - attentive, without being obtrusive - and they have maintained their very high standards - everything is spotless and beautifully and tastefully presented. There are more rooms now, but those in the old house remain our...

The Lupton Lodge is a great place to stay. The host was very friendly and eager to help with dinner suggestions and travel directions. The room was large and welcoming. There was a mini kitchen with a microwave, sink, fridge and dishwasher. The bathroom had a very nice shower. The grounds butt up to a farm, a pool table in...
