We got the train to Greymouth, so this b & b was very handy to the station, 5 minute walk. Very friendly and helpful host. Large room with comfy queen size bed and very clean shared bathroom facilities. Cosy lounge with tv and tea/coffee making facility, nice breakfast. Host was always available to answer ??s. Would love to stay here...

Had a lovely stay here. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Only negative was a really soft bed. Walking distance to town. Perched right up on a hill, looking over the town and the river, was a lovely view whilst eating our home cooked brekkie. We were supposed to have wi-fi but it kept dropping out so was unable to use...

I actually didn't book to stay here earlier this month. I had been flicked off from my booked place due to an overbooking. The lady at the front desk was not overly welcoming but I am also not normally the sort to book at bed and breakfasts, so I'll admit I already had a sour taste in my mouth. I...

We arrived 2 a greeting of "have you got a booking"? Only one room has an en-suite and we were made too believe (not fault of the owners) that the 2 rooms we booked had en-suites. Place in very dated. Room need better lighting and no where in room to lug a hairdryers in near a mirror. Rained that night...

I really liked it. I stayed in the studio which was clean and comfortable, friendly staff, bedroom was a bit dated but nothing a couple of improved light fittings and some new linen wouldn't solve. Perfect location too, close to the station, cafes and restaurants and shops. Thought it would be noisy on the road but I slept very well...

I have not stayed in many b&b's but this seemed to fit the bill quite well & it is what it says it is . It was homey & comfortable , with plenty of coffee tea & biscuits . The rooms were large with everything you need and the shower was hot !!! It is a close walk to the...

Stayed for one night on the way down the west coast. The host, Gladys, is lovely, providing us with extra blankets for the cold night without us even asking! Rooms were clean and generously sized. Shared bathrooms well kept. Tea room very cute with a generous supply of tea/coffee and biscuits. Very hospitable, would definitely stay again.

Stayed for one night on 18 February 2014. Booking made by local I-site who charged us 150$. We note that the Golden Coast's own pamphlet priced this at 130$, both prices including breakfast. Stayed in en-suite apartment at back. Accommodation dated but clean. Bed very soft. Towels old and not matching. Bedroom has fluorescent strip light and one bedside lamp....

Very sorry that you were disappointed however you were booked into the studio unit which was priced at $120.00 per night with an additional $15.00 per person for breakfast making it $150.00 the price you were looking at on the pamplet was for the ensuite room in the house which wasn't the room you were staying in.

My husband and I had made a reservation at a motel but when we arrived they had arranged a room at the Golden Coast for us since they had overbooked. We were given a "motel room" at the back of the house but really it was more of an apartment. It was very comfortable and the owners had thought of...

Not a place to stay in winter esp in the ensuite room at the back of the house... the only heating available was a a small bar heater which was not operating. Very kindly they supplied us with more bedding after asking for it however even this was not sufficient. A general warmth throughout the house would also make a...

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry you hear that you were cold staying at our bed and breakfast as there is nothing worse. We really appreciate feedback from customers and try hard to remedy things within our B&B We have since fitted a lot better heating to our rooms. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention....
