We had a fantastic evening and many of our party guests took advantage of the motel suites on site, so no need to travel back to town for accommodation. Murray and Marcelle went out of their way to make sure everyone enjoyed the evening and the rest of the staff worked hard behind the scenes. We had great food, great...

Peaceful, tranquil... Relaxed. Good proper food. Great roasts and fish. Big fire place, welcome bar, affable host. Very accommodating. The views are exceptional , fabulous roses mountains ( in the morning), across spacious gardens and ponds.

I instantly feel in love with the beauty of Donegal and its surroundings. The interior does need a little work but my friends and I really felt at home. Massive thanks to Marcelle on the bar and Shona in the kitchen for the most amazing hospitality and the lovely conversations. You guys made our stay extra special by being so...

We were initially not going to bother driving up to Kaikoura if it wasn't for the 'swimming with dolphins' tours. We also wanted to support the community and assist, in our own little way, in the recovery by spending some time and money here. It's a shame not everyone is committed to the recovery of post quake hit Kaikoura. Positioned...

This hotel in a rural setting, 5 minutes drive from the town centre was a delight. A warm welcome from the owner and staff set the tone for our short stay. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt very much at home here in this quaint hotel which prides itself on ' Irish style' hospitality, choosing to spend an afternoon relaxing...

Who would believe you would find this place in the middle of nowhere. Full of old world charm and Irish through and through. The grounds and lakes are magnificent and the atmosphere is there in spades. We did not eat there but the menu was inviting and reasonably priced.

You need to take the time and effort to visit this gorgeous little piece of paradise hidden a km or two outside Kaikoura. Bar, restaurant, amazing grounds, accommodation and areas to park your caravan ... everyone is welcome at Donegal House. The manager (I think he was the manager) behind the bar was a delight. Interested in our small party...

A trip in to Kaikoura to support the local businesses after the November 2016 earthquakes- called in to Donegal House for lunch. Have heard of the place but not been here before. The setting is beautiful, with large garden and pond features. We enjoyed very nice food (blue cod. Cajun chicken salad and open steak sandwich) and good service. Will...

We went to have tea and were treated to a wonderful large meal, steak salad & chips. All was divine. This was 4wks after the earthquake. We with locals were adamant the best way to support the town was spend money in shops, restaurants. The service was prompt as was the meal, the venue is magnificent, we sat outside as...

Beautiful deck with surrounding gardens and streams! Quiet outside but inside the music can get a bit 'up ya kilt'... Yeah I know it's Irish, but hey at the end of the day it's a bed, a feed and a hell of a lot of fun - regardless of its affiliations. Mussels were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Chilli and something...
