36 individual free standing villas all nestled around a lake with a lake view, turtles, birds, ducks. Blissfully serene and quiet. Small swimming pool onsite, kids playground, laundry facilities, and friendly management. We stayed 4 nights in a studio villa. It was spacious, clean, had a small fridge, hot plates, microwave and all necessary kitchenware. Easy, short walk to the...

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here this time with a 2nd child. We were again not disappointed. Our 3 yr old and 6 yr old really loved all the turtles and ducks and being able to feed them every day. The accommodation is basic, but has everything that you need. It's very affordable for a family and the...

One of our best and relaxing stays. Only wish we had had more time to enjoy our stay. We will be back and will recommend it to others. The environment was peaceful with lots of birds to enjoy and feed. The hospitality was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This place has every cabin facing the lake reserve where there are plenty of turtles and ducks and other birds. The cabins are all conditioned and come in a 3 bed model or a 5 bed model. The price for the five beds was $120 when we stayed in March 2017. You park your car immediately at the other end...

I stayed at Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat, in a 1 bedroom cottage, complete with a kitchenette. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed and the cottages are all on the edge of the lake, so scenery was great and had lots of semi tame wildlife. Loved it! I am planning to stay there again soon.

I used to stay here every few months. Last year I got Ross river fever from the bites as the mosquitos are so bad and this year it had not changed. I did suggest to the manager to put something there so people did not get bitten. The bed was ok but you had to be careful as it as...

A great little spot to relax, very comfortable and very reasonably priced. It is close to shops, bottle and a short walk from The Esplanade. The well appointed cabins are situated on a lake, each with their own veranda with a view. Air conditioned and fully self contained makes for an enjoyable stay.

An 8 day stay over Christmas and our first time to Hervey Bay. This place is a true sanctuary. Special views of the lake, interaction with the wildlife and very quiet. Location to facilities also very good. The only way to explain the cabin is "donger" style basic. No insulation means you will either be very hot or very cold....
