My wife and I stayed at Retiro Park Lodge for one night. We found the hosts Robbert and Victor fantastic hosts.Nothing was a problem. The room we stayed in was immaculate as was everything else. Breakfast was superb. The fresh fruit was just that-fresh. Outside the grounds were very well kept. This would rate as the best B&B we have ever stayed... More

The Retiro Park Lodge was the first destination on our visit to the South Island. We had read the previous reviews and this appeared to be "up our street". Firstly, it was situated in a quiet but beautiful location, about 15 minutes from Nelson. This beauty was enhanced by the immaculate grounds (thanks to Robert) and the size of the... More

It is not often I would give a holiday experience a 5 star rating, but Retiro Park Lodge exceeded our expectations and gave us a holiday to remember! The property itself is exceptional with well-established gardens, a gaggle of beautiful friendly animals and elegant accommodation. Our hosts (Robbert & Victor) were the ultimate… welcoming, funny, kind and generous and easily... More

Everything about Retiro Park Lodge is excellent. From the superb accommodation and delicious breakfast to the peaceful and tranquil setting amongst the vines, Llamas, Alpacas and ponies. The hosts Robbert, Victor and their whole menagerie of animals made us feel so welcome and at home. This is a truly superb and upmarket 'home stay' where one feels that one arrives... More

Retiro Park Lodge is unique and was made very special for me by the charming hospitality of my hosts, Robbert and Victor, not to mention their gorgeous dog and herd of Alpacas and Llamas. I was made more than welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The delightful property set in beautifully maintained grounds, is tucked away on a hillside,... More

For one night of our honeymoon, my wife and I stayed at Retiro Park Lodge and our experience there was amazing. The two owners, Victor and Robbert, could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. Retiro Park lodge is one of the most beautiful, most charming places I've ever stayed! The place is immaculately taken care of down to the tiniest detail! Beautiful gardens, lily pads in a stream, a quaint tree house, vineyards, a romantic conservatory (green house), grapes hanging from the pergola over the patios, and more. You almost feel like you've entered... More

This has been one of our best travel experiences ever and we have traveled all over the world. The lodge is located in a beautiful 90 acre farm with vineyards, alpacas, ponies, etc. They also have their own small winery and the hosts are very generous with their wine and it's delicious. The room was very large, comfortable and beautifully... More

Retiro Park Lodge offers friendly, personalyzed, memorable accommodation in an oasis of quiet country luxury: Surrounded by an extensive garden, in a 90-acre park-like property, nestled amongst hills and sitting along the river in beautiful Teal Valley, but minutes away from Nelson City’s bustle. The property rears Llamas and Alpacas that roam freely in the paddocks surrounding the lodge and also has its own producing vineyard, olive and almond groves.
