We were fortunate in our discovery of Te Puna Wai & we are subsequently eager to recommend this elegantly luxurious, eclectically furnished lodge with its stunning views & perfectly accomplished hospitality of hosts, Richard & James. My partner & I recently enjoyed a relaxed stay at Te Puna Wai with friends from Western Australia & we were all delighted with...

Nelson was our first stop from the U.S. and Richard & James gave us a super Kiwi welcome. They had many excellent suggestions for our stay and gave us a delightful breakfast that was difficult to surpass during the remainder of our 18 day South Island tour.

I stayed at Te Puna Wai several years ago and recommended it to my parents when we were heading to Nelson together. We had a fabulous stay there. We arrived early in the morning and as our room was free we were able to check in which was great as there wasn't much open and we were tired. We stayed...

We stayed here for 3 nights in October. Richard and James are fantastic hosts and extremely helpful. When we were trying to plan our day's activities, they were always ready with advice and local maps. The views from the top floor apartment are fantastic and with the windows open, it was easy to imagine that we were sitting on the...

We stayed at Te Puna Wai for two nights. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, we felt welcome and would have loved to have stayed longer. Richard and James are great hosts and love having people to share stories with. Richard knows several languages and clearly loves interacting with people. The house is impeccably presented, quiet...

Can recommend this fabulous poat era house for it's fantastic position, gorgoues but understated elegance and ease. We were travelling with 2 treenage children and also they rated it as best stay. Hospitality quality of breakfast was exceptional, could not rate it highly enough. deborah

After traveling for almost 30 hours, my husband and I stayed at Te Puna Wai Lodge for our first two nights in New Zealand. This was our first encounter with NZ hospitality and we were blown away. The owners of the lodge were gone on holiday and a young couple was managing the property while they were gone. They were...

Well, what can I say, I can't find fault with this accommodation at all. The room was fantastic with so much space. The bathroom was pure luxury, large as well. The guest lounge is very comfortable. There is a good choice at breakfast, and more than enough on offer. But the best thing is the hosts if they are around...

We stayed with Richard and James at their beautiful bed and breakfast in Nelson for 3 nights in February this year. They were perfect hosts and their place was truly beautiful. They could not have been more helpful: directing us to good places to eat, providing fantastic breakfasts, booking a trip for us, doing laundry ( as a result of...
