a beautiful setting on a gorgeous evening. Food was generally good with just a few minor issues worth mentioning such as shell in every oyster which was unpleasent and a chipped wine glass. entree of fish platter for 2 was delicious. wait staff were friendly and helpful. Main dissapointment was that we arrived just after 5pm to get a prime...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a recent trip to this part of NZ. Booked into the 'Bungalow', self catering canin next to the hotel but part of same management. This 'bungalow' is very basic and with a bit of thought could have been so much nicer. It is dark and the room hot..... Furnishings and decorating ?...

We had a very special formal dinner party for my Mother's 70th birthday. We were very impressed by the staff and catering. Each course was top notch, and we are still talking about it with friends. The location on the water front is amazing, especially twilight drinks and canapés on the veranda. We would like to thank Tony and Vincent,...

A beautiful hotel with great atmosphere, food, location, comfort and staff. A relaxing, enjoyable and memorable stay. We will certainly return in the future, probably to enjoy the open fire on a winter break.

BEST HOTEL IN RUSSELL VERY DISAPPOINTING* We stayed for 2 nights the room we had 2 singles had an enormous Queen Bed and a Tiny Single Bed the room would have fit 2 generous Queens easily. I know some other members of our Party had the front seaview rooms which when they arrived did not have the bedding requirements requested...

Perfect location, walk from ferry. Excellent restaurant and bar. Friendly helpful staff. Standard and even "superior" rooms fall short. Definitely request the remodeled waterfront rooms, worth the extra charge.

The Duke of Marlborough was the perfect place for a special dinner celebrating my birthday and our honeymoon. The historical building has a unique combination of modern luxury and old world charm. Its position on the waterfront makes it the perfect spot to enjoy the spectacular view of the Russell Wharf. The menu offered a variety of French inspired dishes...

Beautiful view from our Bay view room and excellent location in the center of the promenade action. Staff and food were very good. The hotel is in good shape but remember it is old! Walking to beaches and meals was very comfortable!

we took a break on russell for lunch. Nice place to have lunch. Not very expensive and the hotel is very classy. Wait staffs are very friendly inspite of their busy timings. They have a good range for dinner but for lunch the menu is limited, but had enough options for us.
