Just had a amazing visit to this fantastic country family owned pub The owner and staff are warm and welcoming A full range of local beers and the food menu has something for everyone I asked if the chef could prepare something slightly different due to dietary needs and she promptly came to see me to ensure I got what... Recently spent a fabulous over-night stay at this beautiful place. Wonderful welcome, relaxed, yet attentive. Delicious light lunch - tomato chutney to die for - superb evening meal and then off to bed in a very comfortable bedroom. Best breakfast ever!!!! Would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone who needs a time away from the stresses of modern day life.... More

We've just returned from a wonderful weekend in Somerset staying at this pub. The rooms are attractive and good value. Room 3 is spacious, full of character with a very modern bathroom. The other two rooms are small but attractive. The pub is just what you imagine a genuine Somerset pub should be. Great beers, mini pork pies ( home... More

The place was packed on Friday night, but the staff even though busy managed to fit us in and we got served two amazing burgers in under an hour, can't fault it. It's not the cheapest place in the world, but the food, atmosphere and staff make it worthwhile. Well done guys and thanks again for fitting us in!

Still remember the great food we had. Don't know if it's still the same. We visited several times from 2003-2006 i know it's long time ago but just started to use trip advisor more and more. But it's a good sign that i still remember this great place after such a long time. Hope to go there again sometime soon.... More

Overnight stop, textbook country pub with great beer including Fresh and Bibble from the very local, excellent Wild Beer Co, friendly service from a small committed team. Nicely appointed rooms with very comfy beds and a great full English in the morning. Pretty much perfect

We recently met up with some friends here for Sunday lunch, with 6 kids between us. Initial impressions were good, other than the broken chair. Things started to go downhill when a waitress with a down-turned mouth (and that's being polite!) started to get stressy about taking our order: it really wasn't that complicated. For me, things went from bad... More

A beautiful pub with good food, but sadly it felt that the staff were doing us a favour by serving us. We were a large group of friendly families, and went out of our way to be pleasant, shame the bar/ waiting staff didn't do the same.

My wife love this pub and visit often while camping at Batcombe Vale, so much so that our BBQ gathers dust while we stuff ourselves at the pub every night. The menu changes regularly, there is always something new each day. Very cosy and welcoming with a nice garden and always a great range of beers.
