Large resort with large quiet rooms, nice central pool area. Free laundry, with good machines. Due to Covid, they were understaffed, but were always friendly despite this. The restaurant served above average meals, including breakfast.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Could not fault it at all. A short walk to the lakeside, really lovely, large rooms. Kununurra itself is quite small but makes a good base for visiting Lake Argyle and surrounding areas.
The rooms where nice with a great bed , with good water pressure ,the food was above average and tasty, has a good pool, with a nice grass area , with free Laundry fiercely. Nice bar area although bar service was very slow some of the bar staff very lazy while others where flat out trying to keep up with customers
We stayed on night in a pool side room, the room was spacious and had good facilities, but nothing outstanding. The place was quite tired, and gardens etc between the room and pool were poorly maintained. There are far better places in Kununarra for less money.
The words "Grande" and "Resort" definitely do not apply. Stayed a total 5 nights in July 2022 - staff simply did not want to be there - even avoiding you if they could! - failed to pick up from airport as promised & confirmed - no check-in - simply given keys and left to oneself - took 20 minutes to find room - even after asking staff 4 times! - rooms were at best average - were very tired - rooms only serviced every 3 days - maintenance appeared to be non existent (a chair was upended in gap in decking for at least a week, gardens were in very poor condition) - poor food and bar service (meals were cold on 2 occasions we ate there) - Staff's priority was social media on their phones - almost impossible to book a table for dinner - forced to sit in bar - drinks were expensive - almost double to that of the Kununurra Hotel. - even getting some ice was a major problem for some staff members There are much better options elsewhere…
This place was not a great experience at all! 1. We arrived at 10.30am and understandably we're too early to check in but were told we could not check in before 2pm regardless of whether our room was ready or not. BTW the place was dead, no sign of another guest! We went at 2 and guess what? They were busy! 2 young female staff(they worked together on one customer at a time!)who did not smile or greet us. We then waited 25 minutes to be served with no regrets on their part for the wait. 2. The room was OK but there was a terrible odour coming from the bathroom drains. 3. Had to stay again a few days later. Still no smile or welcome from the staff member. 4. They were evidently short staffed but our room was not serviced and should have been. 5. On the upside, the restaurant food was pretty good although steak was priced from $47! Staff were pleasant at the bar.…
The young multitasking staff were an inspiration but something seems to be lacking at a higher level. Firstly, the resort ( a description which is pushing the envelope), failed to collect a busload of guests from the airport. While understandably the rooms were not ready for us early arrivals, we were advised by a person who appeared to be in charge that an SMS wold be sent as soon as the rooms became available. No SMS was sent and although we saw that our allocated room was indeed ready, we were unable to access it until 2 pm. No lunch was available (we made allowances for the fact that Hospitality is suffering from a lack of staff) and no suggestions were made eg that we were in walking distance of town and a pleasant park and lake. Instead we were left to "kick our heels". The room was large and clean but there were indications of a lack in maintenance, with a large hole in the net curtain, a faulty light bulb and hot and cold indicators missing from the shower taps. Minor matters but in total indicating a less than satisfactory situation. The evening meal was good.…
This resort was quite large as was the room. We were on a coach trip and there was a rush for the laundry which was free. The bed was comfortable, the pool was well used and the food was just OK. Pub food. Our tour guide organised a local to show us around the small town and interesting surrounds. We would be happy to stay here again.
Staff walking around not knowing what to do,it was embarrassing for a local to see ,only about 10 people there and still couldn’t get orders right, also was hard to get drinks because there was nobody around most of the time ,could have served ourselves
Resort, really? More like a below avarage motel in the middle of nowhere, no breakfast or breakfast facilities provided, when I where we could have something to eat, the answer was; "restaurant does not open on Mondays ", you can walk 15 minutes to town ( more like 30+), under a 39 C , heat? Thank you. Just remove the Resort name on it as it does not look orany reflect one. We try and holiday in WA, however when you pay what is charged and get very little, is very outputting.
