Airlie Beach is the epitome of a beach town, you'll instantly feel the carefree and relaxed attitude emanating from every space. You'll find it in the Airlie Beach Lagoon, a manmade saltwater swimming area surrounded by sand and grassy knolls, where you can lounge away the day in the sun. You'll find it in the beachside parks where afternoon barbeques proliferate and continue into the evening hours and you'll find it in the alfresco dining restaurants where fresh seafood overflows from every dish.
As soon as we got into our room no.19, the overwhelming smell of dampness was really bad had to keep balcony door open all the time to air the room. There was no free breakfast as advertised, no foxtel also as advertised, no use of the gym, couldn't use the spa. This was all down to covid-19 so I gather but there was no compensation for the free breakfast that we didn't get. I wanted to give the floor of the room a bit of a sweep but the broom was so filthy that it made the floor even dirtier. The location is second to none and the views are outstanding and the pools were excellent but the resort is very tired and needs a thorough clean, I wouldn't go back and stay there again there's many better places in airlie beach.
Location , location, location. Walking distance to the heart of Airlie beach, all the restaurants , shops and even one of the ports. Its up a short hill but thats what gets you the most amazing views. The pools were also stunning being waterfall edge. There were 3 pools so it never felt crowded . The gardens are beaufiful , tropical and lush. We stayed here for 3 nights early in the Christmas holidays . We got a 2 bed for under $160 per night. we considered this a good deal . Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and tidy. The gym, spa and cafe were closed . I guess due to covid but we have been in other hotels were they are open so im not really sure.
The spa, gym and kitchen are closed .The room wasnt cleaned to a reasonable standard, WIFI is non existent. Do not stay here if you need WIFI! I stayed for 9 days and 6 days in I had to go down to reception to ask for clean towels/bathmats and was told I wasnt really suppose to get them until day 7. I did not get fresh sheets in the 9 days also. The most disappointing thing was when I emailed photos to 'Jeff' and spoke about my concerns he responded 'thanks for your feedback' and that he would get back to me ASAP. I waited a week and touched base with him again yet he never bothered to respond and I googled Owners name which was Jeff Aquilina so Im assuming that is the Jeff I was dealing with. Clearly he isnt interested in his paying customers. The outside is lovely, the pool and view was nice but they really need to update the furniture so its inline with what they are advertising as 'luxury accommodation' and its really rude not even responding to your customers concerns, that is what upset me the most.…
Previous tenant fescues caked into toilet brush and under toilet seat. Shower walls visibly grimy with gunky soap and mould. Curtains covered in brown children’s hand prints, hopefully it was chocolate, I didn’t check. Lounge smelled like urine. No blankets in rooms. I have stayed in far less expensive hotels and never seen this kind of filth. Advertised free Foxtel, but no such thing. You can hear everything from the upstairs neighbours, so forget sleep if they are a large family.
“A resort is a self-contained commercial establishment that tries to provide most of a vacationer's wants, such as food, drink, lodging, sports, entertainment, and shopping, on the premises” Waters Edge container neither of these facilities and can’t be called a resort. We had a good time here and location is great. Families beware there is a rather steep hill which is tough with kids & strollers. Place is worn out and not maintained well and needs an update. Room 24 air-con had moldy smell and at times started heating instead of cooling. Problem is each unit has individual owners so to their mercy to get an update.
