You would almost think you are back in time. Very very friendly staff, i think they gave me the biggest room they had. It had a little Kitchenette , i had a sunroom, with table and chairs, a balcony, it also had table and chairs. The bathroom had the deepest tub i have ever seen and yes it was a cast iron tub, with shower. The whole place is sooo beautiful!! I loved staying there, and would i stay there again?, oh yes in a heart beat!! I think it is the place to stay!! like a 6 min walk from the train station, and the train station is in the middle of the shopping area, so lots of stores, and on Thrus and Fri there is a market in the evening, lots of food venders and little popup stores. with music. What is not to like.

Beautiful and charming I stayed during new year eve. it was good price and affordable, compare to other hotels around. I hardly see any hotel has character like this one. Love all the Led light windows and doors. Staff were very helpful and accommodated may needs. I changed my plan from 4 nights to 3 nights and they gave me refund without argument. ( U need to let them know at least 3 days though) The location was perfect not too far from station easy to find restaurants and shops. Room were clean and enough for 2 of us. Definitely recommend to anyone.

This was quite a shock and disappointment. The room was very mouldy and smelly to the extend of being detrimental to your health. Please see photos. Booking through booking.com listed breakfast as did website, no breakfast and no wifi as advertised. Person on the phone was very condescending. Late check-in was easy to organise.

What a nice surprise to find the Charrington in Chatswood. Amazing heritage hotel... every room has a little balcony, the hotel is decorated with beautiful lead lights and the owner Robert was amazing in telling us about the history of this Victorian style hotel. Super centrally located near the station, cafes etc, but easy to find on street (timed, free) parking. And the hotel is hidden away from the Pacific Highway traffic in a little heritage piece of bushland with gorgeous birds waking you up!

We stayed in 301 at the top of the stairs. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a lovely balcony to enjoy a cop of tea. Unfortunately the old world charm is let down by the world clocks in the reception area not actually working. We had a pleasant stay, just the one night. Thank you

We will definitely come back to this one. Situated within an easy walk to Chatswood Station, this hotel is one of the best. The building is old style but is looked after very well and maintained to a high degree. Clean, neat and tidy is the feeling you get everywhere. The room we had was homely with everything you need and giving an old time feel. Old Australiana framed pictures are in the rooms and in the hallway. The room was comfortable with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. What made me happy was a special waist high shelf to put your case and bags on so you did not have to bend, perfect for those of us with a bad back. We had a little verandah with a table and chairs where we could sit and have a cup of tea, looking out to the gum trees. The bathroom was well supplied and very functional. There is no dining room, but a short walk away is Chatswood Mall with a large choice of places to eat. There is no guest parking, but there is plenty of parking at the front, just be aware of the time zones as there is a school next door. When checking in at 1.00pm, I was greeted by an older man in overalls who said the receptionist was at lunch. He was so polite and friendly, explaining everything and having a great chat. When I returned a little later, the receptionist was there, he was also an older man, just as friendly and polite. Yes, the hotel is run by two lovely men, who obciously look after it very well. Yes, I like and thoroughly recommend this hotel for its clenliness, location, atmosphere and price.…

Good location with easy walk to train station and shops. Good price, studio room with desk and Kitchenette, great water pressure in the shower, clean towels and functioning tv. Felt safe. Old fashioned, like a heritage room at your grand parents, but quite quaint. Would stay again :)

The Charrington has to be one of the most affordable hotels in Sydney - especially this close to the CBD, so it offers great value. The rooms are not huge but the decor is lovely and the bathroom included a bath plus shower. My room had a balcony with table and chairs - very private and a lovely spot to unwind. The hotel is just a few minutes easy walk from Chatswood station and the main restaurant/retail precinct. The hotel was very quiet with virtually no street noise. On-street parking is available though much of it is in a 2-hour zone, and this could be a potential problem if you're staying mid-week. Finding parking on the weekend wasn't a problem. The staff were all super helpful and welcoming. I definitely recommend the Charrington - I'll be back.

I was looking for last minute accommodation close to Chatswood and this hit the mark. Close to the railway station, mall and shopping centre. The hosts were great to deal with and the house has been very well renovated to period style. The rooms are adequate without being flash. It is well process for what you get. My bed was a double and comfortable. I had a kitchenette which foot long term would be a real advantage. A great place to stay. Parking is on the street which was not a hassle

It's a beautifully decorated hotel in a suburb of Sydney. Well connected with trains and busses. Rooms are well equipped and reception very friendly and helpful. Shopping opportunities are very close, so are restaurants and bars.
