Quite by chance, my partner and I encountered this hotel when we were searching for a place to have dinner on a Saturday evening in mid-March. It's a great place to have a drink but you can also eat, although the food is fairly basic! What surprised and delighted, though, was the fact that a funky little blues band (complete...

On a misty afternoon in February we attended at Murder Mystery High Tea at Hotel Blue. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Chris, the manager and Elizabeth, the cocktail maker. The lobby buzzed with goodwill. After a 20's cocktail, we went to the high tea, excellent, and role played a murder mystery. Our host was peter and he was...

Funky hotel. Especially the lounge where there's live jazz music for many days of the week. At no cost to you. Nice staff, willing to help. Fantastic beds. Only items I would like to see improved is the breakfast buffet and the cleanliness.Dinner food was fine though.

The Ukulele Festival is a huge event in Katoomba each year in Mid February and most accommodation near the town centre is taken many months before the event. I booked late and found Hotel Blue could provide a room for one for one night, so I booked. The room was old fashioned, small, no air conditioner, windows with no fly...

We stayed on the hottest weekend so far in NSW, Australia, and it is like an oven in our room. The front desk didn't inform or warn us that there is no AC in the room when we booked especially since we booked a family room and we had our children with us. It should be a courtesy information to...

This hotel charged us £75 a night per room for a three night stay and included breakfast albeit a very disappointing one. It could have been so much better. During our stay the public rooms were being redecorated and really the hotel should have been closed as on bitterly cold evening the place was cold, bleak and smelling of paint....

Four friends went for Saturday dinner show in Parlour Bar. Music excellent. Dinner (set menu) basic but fish well-cooked, not very good value. Probably better to order from bar menu - pizza etc. Rooms are clean but dated, run-down. Mismatched, old furniture. A hole in wall by one bed. Bathroom very small, grout showing age and wood trim rotting. Empty...

Poorest hotel choice of our holiday (in 5 weeks), the only thing we liked was the location. Room was outdated. There was no airco, opening a window wasn't an option because all the flies and mosquitos would just fly in. Sheets weren't clean and at 6.30 am the sun started to shine in our face (the curtains didn't fully cover...

We stayed here for 3 nights to explore the blue mountains. Perfect location to use as a base and within walking distance to the town and echo point - which is good so you don't have to pay for parking there! The room was clean and room service kept us topped up everyday. The shower was great! The cooked breakfast...
