I stayed here shortly after arriving in Australia for around a week. I really liked it and met some great people. I hadn't stayed in any other hostels before so it was my first experience. Everything was new and exciting. The positives - clean, good kitchen and good location. Around a year later I tried booking two beds here and...

Arrived with my 2 friends and stayed in the mixed dorms for 3 nights. The place was very homely, although the rooms had a slightly musky smell. Also, there's a cat living with them, which was a slight problem for me as I am scared of cats. However, the cat proved to be quiet, and did not mind human interaction...

You can see why guests return back here it's a hostel with a heart. It has a good atmosphere created by staff, Poppy and the owner Ross encouraged guest to socialise by pretending it's 1985 with no screens phones in the lounge between 6-9pm it's a great idea in our opinion! We were there on a Sunday night during our...

I was quite disappointed in my stay at the flying fox which is a shame as I expected much more. On arrival I was not even greeted with a hello by receptionist until they had checked my other friends in and shown them to their dorm. After getting checked in I was shown to our private room which smelt funny....

Stayed at flying fox for a week and absolutely loved the cosy, chill atmosphere. Ross the owner went out of his way to make our stay awesome and we really enjoyed his pesto pasta night. Loved hanging out in the cosy common room by the fireplace and the free drum circle lesson (also have guitars, ukuleles etc). This is a...

We only stayed one night here and the hostel itself is very cosy and comfortable. However, when we wanted to have a quiet drink in the evening we were told to hide our alcohol as the owner 'doesn't like spirits'. We are responsible adults and only wanted to enjoy a drink or two, and were treated as if we were...

Such a lovely welcoming place. A home from home. The comfy sofas in the lounge nestle around a roaring log fire in winter where residents come to socialise without electronic devices between 6 and 9pm. There are musical instruments, board games and books to entertain you. Breakfast and free tea and coffee is included as well as access a hob...

This was our third escape room visit and probably the most challenging. The Fox in a Box take pride in being the best at escape rooms and are constantly looking to improve. The challenge was in English, but the only downside to the adventure was that our guide was a little hard to understand at times. The props were first...

I had such a great stay at the Flying Fox and will be back again for sure! It's pretty small so was easy to get to know everyone and it didn't take long to feel like I was at home (the manager even made dinner for everyone one night!). It was nice to finally find a place where people are...
