We stayed in the beach house with some friends for 2 nights; I could have stayed for years. The house, which is at the bottom of its own driveway, nestled behind some vines, has everything you need for a self contained holiday in a truly idyllic spot. Just stroll 30 seconds from the beach along your own private pathway and... More

We drove from Launceston to Hobart primarily staying in self-catering accommodations . The Sandpiper Ocean Cottages turned out to be one of the best. The cottages are close to the highway, however there is minimal road noise A short walk from our cottage was a large private beach, ideal for shell collecting and I'm sure latter in the year great... We stayed in the beach house right on the beach. Fully equipped kitchen & fire place. Was very clean. So private. Not modern but just so cosy. You need a car as it is about 6km out of town. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks. Mary Limbach

The large house we stayed in was in a fantastic location just back from the beach, had heaps of room, privacy and a nice outlook over the water. It also had a nice protected deck area to enjoy the sun. The best thing about this accommodation though was how well equipped it was and how thoughtful the hosts are about... More

We stayed 2 nights in " Sandpiper" cottage and would happily have stayed longer. Property managers were very friendly and the cottage was just lovely. Very comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a great stay. The washing machine and dryer complete with complimentarily washing liquid was particularly useful as we had been travelling Tasmania for a... More

Just north of Bicheno this is a great place to stay to visit this part of the world. The Ocean view cottage is spacious and warm (with panel heaters). There was no log fire which was disappointing - the ethanol fireplace was pretty underwhelming. The beach is 1 minute walk away and the sunrises from the unit were spectacular. It... More

Cosy, well kept and great location near beach and only a short distance out of town. This worked well for a family reunion of 4 generations as we had our own space as well as a large kitchen and dining room in the beach house. The owners were helpful and I would be happy to return again either as a... More

We stayed just one night in the cottages with our dog and wished that we had booked for a week! The managers were really friendly, the cottage was clean and attractive (no doggie smell or signs of previous canine guests) and all the little conveniences had been thought of - like washing machine powder, fresh eggs and coffee for our... We recently stayed in Ocean View cottage and it was a perfect, peaceful place to recharge our batteries. The cottage was clean, tidy and well appointed so all we had to do was buy some groceries and call it home for a week. It was a short walk over the dunes to the beach, which is lovely, and a short... We stayed in the Ocean View Cottage. Stunning accommodation, with everything you'd ever need! One downside, the ethanol fire wasn't amazing, but the panel heaters kept the place toasty warm! we loved staying here and would recommend sandpiper to visitors touring up the east coast. It was the perfect place to relax after exploring wine glass bay!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sandpiper Ocean Cottages are perfectly located just north of Bicheno on the East Coast of Tasmania. Set on 4 acres of natural coastal gardens, each cottage is private and spacious. A short stroll through the dunes and you can walk barefoot for miles on pristine white sand, fish from the beach or swim safely. The only sounds you'll hear are the waves, the birds and the squeak of the sand as you walk. The three 2 bedroom cottages sleep 5 people comfortably and have full laundry and kitchen facilities. They are spacious and modern inside, with large sunny verandas. A cosy log fire and the sounds of the sea make for restful nights. Our new 1 bedroom cottage, Ocean View, is just next to Sandpiper Cottage and is also fully self contained. This one is just for couples - with a king bed, all the mod cons and a view of the ocean. For those wanting a bit more space & privacy, we also manage the property adjoining Sandpiper. The Beach House. A stunning 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with beautiful ocean views on 40 acres with its own beach access. It sleeps up to 8 people. We’re close to the Bicheno Golf Club and Douglas Apsley National Park and half an hour away from Freycinet National Park and the iconic Wineglass Bay. The Bay of Fires is only an hour to the north.
