Stayed in the Executive House and we were very impressed. Sometimes booking places with water views means you have to stand on a ladder in the corner of the bathroom to appreciate the "view" but this really has lovely water views from downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs bedroom is huge with amazing views to wake up to. House is modern...

We were drawn to the penguin experience so booked the Penguin Nook for two nights. Unit was clean and well equipped for self catering, nice bed and linen, comfortable lounge area, large TV and reading/magazine resources. Loved the penguins sauntering past the lounge door and sqawking/sqealing as they settled early evening. Nice walk to town along foreshore. Fresh fish and...

The only nice comment I could make on this cottage would be the great location. On the upstairs level are 3 bedrooms. One is so small you could not call it a bedroom. You have to walk past the bed in the main bedroom area to use bathroom/toilet facilities. We had friends stay with us for one night and it...

Absolutely ripped off! This so called cottage is nowhere near the beach and is an old brick unit, it is at least 300 mtrs from the beach behind a smelly sheep paddock, nothing like the advertisement! I spoke with the owner & he told me that was the one I had booked??? Rubbish! Be careful which absolute beach front "Cottage"...

The only photos displayed were of the lovely cottages right ON the beach. What we got however was approximately 2km from the advertised ones which were a few hundred meters from the beach behind a stinky sheep paddock and old! Unless penguins walk up past the sheep paddock you have no chance of seeing them as one is lead to...

We were a little disappointed with the Penguin Nook. On the up side, the location is good, close to town and the foreshore footway. It is close to the penguins. At times you can hear the neighbours but the place does feel quite private given that it is conjoined. Beds were good. It has quite a good little kitchen although...

The name might look confusing, but there are in fact 3 properties on the Anchlia site, with Anchlia House being separate and indeed a 'house', obviously very recently refurbished top to bottom and offering a very large kitchen and family room with adjacent, generous bedroom, and huge 'master' bedroom upstairs with its own balcony, large en suite, copious storage etc...

We stayed at Cod Rock terrace, a lovely two storey 2 bedroom apartment which is attached to the one storey-one bedroom Penguin Nook, for two nights. Our unit was very comfortable with the living-dining and kitchen on the ground floor and the bedrooms on the upper floor. The apartment was nicely furnished and the kitchen well-equipped. BBQ was also available...

Hi, We stayed at Anchlia Waterfront Cottage for a couple of nights last week. The area and cottage is quite beautiful and well appointed but there were a few issues with the booking and our stay there. The first problem we encountered is the email confirmation we received from the owners, being about six pages of helpful information, did not...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Two fully self-contained apartments, Cod Rock Terrace - 2 story, 3 bedrooms sleeps up to 5 and Penguin Nook - 1 bedroom (queen and a single). Right on the waterfront on Cod Rock Point in the East Coast township of Bicheno. Penguins frequent the grounds around the apartments most of the year, and we front onto a 3 klm foreshore walk that goes around town to our blowhole. Both apartments have views over Waub's Bay and Cod Rock Terrace and views overlooking Diamond Island. Set in landscaped gardens with native gums that attract many bird species. All only 500 m or so from local shops and restaurants and only one half hour drive from the world-renowned Freycinet National Park/Wineglass Bay. A great place for at least a two night stopover. ... more   less
