We found our stay at the Big Grove B & B to be very enjoyable. Nice, quiet and very clean throughout. There are some interesting artifices about the home including the owner Jim. He is not only has a wealth of knowledge where the local scene is concerned but he is also very well travelled. He is happy to share...

We love to find new and interesting places and even better..... Interesting people!! Jim's home is welcoming and comfortable. It has beautiful surroundings, rich with wildlife. The rooms are clean and well taken care of, not modern but full of interesting and personal objects and every one has a story. The room prices are affordable and come with a breakfast-...

Don,t bother about the stupid negative reviews for Jim and the Big Grove, this is a delightful place near to Discovery Bay. My Nephew and I were on a road trip and found Big Grove late in the day. Only stayed one night but definitely calling in again next time I am down here. Jim was a delight to talk...

It's not often I share bad reviews but this is one phone call I won't forget. I called Big Grove Bed and Breakfast to change the dates for my parents stay across the New Years break. I was on the phone to "owner" of the property who seemed preoccupied with other tasks whilst talking to me, he made me feel...

House and surrounding: When we first reached the place, the house gave us a very unique vintage European look. It was a spacious 7 acres lot surrounded with trees and bushes, we enjoyed plenty of fresh air there. The atmosphere inside the house was spectacular, with exposed interior walls, hanging with different paintings and photographs, complete with amazing wood finish...

The house is beautiful, all the more for being a real home. The property around is peaceful and everything is in pristine order. Jim is a super friendly and welcoming host whose thoughtfulness is present in the small gestures: collecting our dry laundry from the line before it rains, lighting the great living room fire to warm up the room...

I stayed 2 nights and couldn't speak more highly of the place. Previously I had been camping, but booked a room due to bad weather and can't tell you how nice it was to have an open fire, heater in my room, electric blanket and lovely hot shower. Jim was an excellent host, had great knowledge of the area, made...

DONT stay here. We booked 2 nights at Big Grove to attend the ANZAC remembrance. We only stayed 1 night because the room was so dusty we couldn’t breathe. Jim showed us around the room and on the surface it appeared ok. On closer inspection the floor of the shower was covered in ants. There was hair and cobwebs on...

We stayed at Big Grove for one night over the Easter weekend. We wished we’d booked for longer! Jim showed genuine hospitality and made us feel right at home, it felt almost like we were staying at a relative’s. The house is really like a home away from home, beautiful standard, spacious rooms, gorgeous views, nice common area with amenities...

The Big Grove Bed and Breakfast is without doubt the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. From the moment we walked in the front door, it felt like we had come home. The house is set on seven acres of bushland on the south side of Princess Royal Harbour on Panorama Road and is the closest accommodation...

“All rooms are quiet. There is one room that has an adjoining shower/bathroom, the other two have en suites. To access the adjoining facility you have to travel through the communal room (albeit in the corner). Robes are provided, but this may not suit everyone.”

“Go through a booking agency, it seems you will get a room for $10/ night cheaper, the owner will really have something to winge about then because the booking agency will take their percentage and the owner wont get his money till much later. We paid him 50% on booking (3 weeks before arrival) and because he kept talking about the other 50% we paid it on the second day instead of @ check out as per nearly every other B&B.”
