Old traditional beach hotel with nice staff. We got a good view from our balcony on the forth floor. The sofa was a pullout sofa bed with two separate beds. The breakfast included was good but not great, actually the coffee machine was loud and made terrible coffee. But the buffe with salami, fresh fruit, cereal, baguette etc was good.... More

Clean room. Zero view. Internet is paid for which is not good. Breakfast is not fantastic Meh for the price paid. Would look elsewhere when I go back for Sabores Restaurant which made the Roses trip worthwhile.

I stayed here for 3 nights in April. Having been to Roses a lot when I was younger I wanted to return. I remembered the Mar Y Sol being a central hotel and this is why I chose to stay here. It is right in the centre of the shops and restaurants and just across the road from the beach.... More

A three night stay in February definitely means being in Roses in the very low season. However, our group had a very pleasant stay. We met two staff on reception, male and female, and both were very helpful, very welcoming. Most of our group were Chinese and they particularly appreciated what the reception staff did. The rooms were warm (I... More

Lovely place. Best location in Roses, without a doubt. Loads of restaurants and bars close by, with many shops on doorstep. Fantastic beach yards away across the not too busy road. Staff very friendly, as was the manager whom personally greeted breakfast guests each morning. Breakfast very good. Big choice band plenty of food. Very relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant a bit... More

If you have booked accommodation here and you need to park your car. I'm sorry for what your about to experience. The hotel location is Great! The hotel is in reasonable condition, some minor maintenance required. Hotel facilities: The online and hotel information confirms this establishment has car parking, and it is true, they do! The problem is there is... More

It was great to have a kitchen so we didn't have to visit restaurants at all. Twin beds tend to move away from each other so you better ask for king-size bed. TV has an USB-slot so you can watch videos and photos on big screen. The location is brilliant so it's worth 78 eur per night.

There aren't many waterfront hotels open along the Costa Brava in November, so we were happy to find rooms at the Mar y Sol. However, the rooms are extremely basic and in need of updating. Upon arrival, the rooms seemed clean, but I noticed several (about ten) ants crawling on the floor the next morning. Friends were in the room... More

This is a really good place. I stayed here previously about 4 years ago and it was just as good second time round. Get a superior double with sea view and you actually get a suite. My only negative would be that it would benefit from aircon, but that would be nit picking. If you go to the Costa Brava... More

The room we were in was on a corner the fourth floor and we had not realized that it is a small apartment, with a separate living room and a closet kitchen. We enjoyed a nice view on the beach and the amenities were clean and comfortable. Breakfast downstairs was pretty standard. My only relatively small gripes were the absence... More
