Hi Susie, Phil from Knight Inlet Lodge here. the whale watching in early September is very good with both Orca and humpback whales seen regularly. We've had guests forgo the whale watching to focus on bears but the majority do combine the 2 activities while at the lodge so either way is a good option really.

Sorry but all of our tours require staying at our lodge for at least one night. Also the floatplane departs from Campbell River on Vancouver Island which can easily be reached by scheduled flight from Vancouver.
