I have visited this establishment many times and I cannot fail to be impressed on each occasion. This is an inn that has been kept in the family. Formerly run by David and Marjorie Thomas, it has now been taken over by their lovely daughter, Sarah Withers. The welcome is always warm, the atmosphere is comfortable and the ambience, a...

My partner and I came to this delightful pub on a recent trip to Kidwelly and were recommended the Red Lion by town locals. We booked a table (definitely reserve!) and were seated in a beautiful dining room with a buzzing atmosphere. We ordered a fish and chips and garlic chicken breast. The fish was clearly fresh and expertly cooked,...

We were staying for a long weekend in Ferryside and the B&B owner recommended going here for our evening meal. We were very pleasantly surprised as our meals were excellent. It's a nice friendly pub and the waitress service was spot on. Will definitely be back here when in the area again.

We travelled to Wales for the Rugby World Cup involving Ireland's games at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. The sojourn lasted 10 days and we stayed at The Red Lion at Llandyfaelog. We enjoyed every second of our residency in this home from home. The food was absolutely magnificent for 6 hungry Irishmen every day. Breakfast gave us sustenance for a...

Followed a little sign off the main Llanelli- Carmarthen road to discover this gem. Excellent Sunday lunch- freshly cooked food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. A stroll around the village set in beautiful countryside afterwards, just made a perfect Sunday afternoon. We'll be back for more- looking forward to the Cheese and Wine evening there next week.

Went for a meal as staying locally. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Husband had a mixed grill and it was cooked to perfection. Staff very attentive and friendly. Right down to landlords grandson who came round singing (he was aged around 7!) Whole pub had a community feel to it. Woukdnt reccomend it to anyone

We went to this restaurant last night for food. We were 6 adults and 4 children. We were welcomed in by the owner and staff were all friendly. We sat in the bar area where the children enjoyed the pool table before heading down into a side room for food. I could have sat there all evening, it easy like...

First visit for many years and was glad we made the effort. A country pub and restaurant a bit out of the way. Great atmosphere created by the owners Dai and Madge with a good selction of ales etc. The menus had something for all tastes and the food was cooked extremely well with that homely feel. Well worth a...

Whenever we visit Wales to stay with my parents in law, in Kidwelly, we ALWAYS visit Dai and Madge in the Red Lion, for a beautiful home cooked style meal, a cracking pint, and a good natter. The restaurant area is truly lovely after a refit in recent years as has the whole establishment, it really is well worth visiting....
